Fein Turbo II

Powerful suction, quiet operation, and compact size has made the Fein Turbo II a long-standing benchmark for high-end shop vacuums. With convenient tool-triggered on/off, the Turbo II is particularly well-suited for woodworking shops, where it is used just as often for dust collection with power tools as it is for cleanup. Its powerful 1100 watt bypass motor is completely sealed off from the dusty air in the hose, resulting in clean exhaust and excellent durability. And with 151 CFM, you can be certain this vacuum will pull in all the dust. Can be used wet or dry, without needing to replace the filter. Features a long power cord and hose, plus easy-rolling casters for a large operating range.

Features:
  • High performance turbine for 151 CFM (71 l/s) flow rate and 98.4'' of water lift (245 mbar vacuum)
  • Low noise level of 67 dB (A)
  • Large range due to 19 ft power cord and 13 ft vacuum hose
  • Large wheels rotate 360° for optimal maneuverability, even in tight conditions
  • Tool coupling with suction control for easy control of suction power
  • Autostart outlet with power-on delay to prevent current spikes
  • Flat top with rim for storing tools and supplies

Expensive but worth it
Love the vac and it is quiet especially compared to my existing craftsman shop vac. I did use a sound app and compared the db levels between this and my craftsman and yes, the Fein came in at 67db while the craftsman came in at a whopping 91db. The hose is really long which is great and the cord, holy crap, is the longest power cord I've seen on a shop tool. Why don't others do that. Oh, maybe the price has something to do with that. I did read other reviews about the hose being too stiff but I sure don't have any complaints about that, Maybe the others should consider the bend radius of a larger hose and then be happy with how well this vac is. Be advised that the vacuum does not come with any tools, wands, etc and what you see in the picture is exactly what you get.

I rigged up a dust deputy on top so I wouldn't go through bags and have to say it works great. The top of the vac is flat and a 5 gallon bucket sits perfectly on the top. Four bungie cords to hold the homer bucket down, dust deputy mounted to a lid and you are good to go. Must admit I saw something similar on YouTube and can't be happier that I tried it. I've got this vac dedicated to my CNC machine and if it wasn't so darn expensive I'd get another one and throw out my existing shop vac. Well, expensive but not compared to the Festool stuff but those things are in a different world that I don't occupy.

More than I expected
Very quiet with convenient long hose and cord. Tool outlet works great, I use it primarily for my miter saw. No visible dust escapes from the out vent. My old shop vac blew out dust every time it started.

The Silence Is Gold
Here is my review: All vacuums suck. That's the job of a vacuum cleaner. I recently purchased a Fein II, and like all vacuums, it sucks. The big difference with Fein is it sucks in silence. You can actually hear yourself think, If you value your hearing, and what woodworker doesn't, you need this shop vac.

Fein Turbo 2
Works great. This one is more powerful then my last Fein that lasted 12 years. My shop vac is the most used tool in the shop.

worth the expense
Well designed, powerful, durable, extremely quiet, long hose and power cord. No accessory tools or attachments included. Best use is as a shop vac attached directly to a tool. Turns on automatically when tool is turned on, which is very convenient.

Fein Turbo II
For well over 40 years I have used a Craftsman Wet/Dry Shop vac. Several years ago I replaced the internal pleated filter with a "drywall" dust trapping filter for when I would sand drywall compound. I still had a dust to contend with.

A couple weeks ago I purchased a Fein Turbo II. What a difference!!! I first used it to sand several cabinet doors and drawer fronts in preparation for staining. My first impression was that I did not have to use my ear protection, I was able to comfortably hold a conversation with a friend. In fact my sander was louder. I like the feature of plugging my sander into the Vac and having the Vac power up just by turning on my sander. Another cool feature of the Vac is it stays on for around 10 to 20 seconds after I turn off my sander. I used the same setup in a bedroom while sanding the cabinet face fronts in an adjoining bathroom with NO dust in the bedroom.

Well worth every dollar spent. Definitely would recommend to a friend.

Food for thought. Ya gets what you pay for...

A great little vacuum!
I got this vacuum after a friend, a professional painter, recommended it to me. It is so much quieter than the one I had, I now need quieter sanders!

It also has much better suction than my previous one. You will be very happy with this machine.

Was considering Shop-Vacs as an inexpensive replacement for an old ducted extraction system which serviced three woodworking machines but had fallen into disrepair. These dust extractors appear to be several levels up from a Shop-Vac as far as our application is concerned.

What is the horsepower?

BEST ANSWER: Idk exactly but I love it . I refinish tables in restraints with it . That should say it all. Awesome machine.
Would this Vac be sufficient for a small woodworking shop in my basement? I'm considering using it with the dust separator, is it a good combination. I like the automatic turn on feature when I start up a shop machine. Is it worth the $100 difference between the version I and version II?
Mark C on Nov 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Depends on the amount of dust you're trying to collect. This is meant to be used for the Fein system of tools and as a shop vacuum. It uses felt bags to clean the exhaust air. So in my opinion you should be able to find a more reasonable solution if you have power saws, large routers, etc.
can i use this machine for my dental zirconia milling machine?
can this machine continuously work for 4 to 5 hours?
Murali K on Mar 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I really don't have an answer. I use it for woodworking and it only runs for a few minutes at a time.
