Fein Turbo II HEPA

76% of 100

Powerful suction, quiet operation, and compact size has made the Fein Turbo II a long-standing benchmark for high-end shop vacuums. This model also comes standard with a HEPA filter, which filters 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns in size. With convenient tool-triggered on/off, the Turbo II is particularly well-suited for woodworking shops, where it is used just as often for dust collection with power tools as it is for cleanup. Its powerful 1100 watt bypass motor is completely sealed off from the dusty air in the hose, resulting in clean exhaust and excellent durability. And with 151 CFM, you can be certain this vacuum will pull in all the dust. Can be used wet or dry, without needing to replace the filter. Features a long power cord and hose, plus easy-rolling casters for a large operating range.

  • Low noise level
  • Large range due to 19 ft power cord and 13 ft vacuum hose
  • Large wheels rotate 360° for optimal maneuverability, even in tight conditions
  • Tool coupling with suction control for easy control of suction power
  • Autostart outlet with power-on delay to prevent current spikes
  • Flat top with rim for storing tools and supplies

Woodworking Experience:
Get the Fein Turbo II HEPA Set!
I went for the Fein Turbo II HEPA Set instead of this bare-bones model because it included everything I wanted: floor set, bench brush and an adapter that allows it to work with all my Festool machines and my Metabo 6" random orbit sander. Those accessories cost a few hundred bucks if you went for a Festool shop vac, which then makes the Festool an awful lot more expensive than the "Set" model.

The issue of variable speed is a non-issue to me, as the machine is very quiet as it is.

However, it would have been nice to have a higher quality hose, especially considering the price tag of this unit.

As you can see from the attached photo, I've added an Oneida cyclone to the shop vac, which helps keep the filters inside the Fein cleaner, which keeps the vauccm efficiency high.

All in all, I'd rate it an excellent value.

Woodworking Experience:
Should have included a couple of wands and a floor head for the amount of money that it costs. Other than that it is a nice unit, very quiet

Woodworking Experience:
Good but could be better
It is definitely quite and has great suction but is lacking some things. It doesn't have adjustable suction like the Festool which changes the speed of the blower and thus lowering the power and noise. It instead has a variable bypass opening on the end of the hose that you can open and close. I spend too much time cleaning the hose because it isn't anti-static which it should be for this price. It has an attachment on the back for only holding some instead of all of the accessories which are sold separately for another $100 (too expensive and should be included). There is no reusable bag available for it like Festool offers for theirs. It does accept standard hoses of 2.5" with a friction fit but the hose that comes with it has an O-ring seal and twist lock which is nice. It has the highest rating CFM and static pressure of anything on the market but Fein does say that its rating is at the blower with no hose attached so you can only expect half the CFM with any hose attached. I have to assume that all the other manufacturers play the same rating game even though they don't say how their ratings are done. It's also has bypass cooling which nobody else offers so the motor won't burn out if the hose is blocked. The hooks on the back to hold the hose don't work that great and are more useful for holding the power cord which doesn't have a storage place. There are fewer accessories available for it compared to the Festool. So if you want the most CFM and static pressure get this and save money, otherwise get the Festool.

what type of tools can the turbo I used on?
tom l on Jul 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: just about any - with adaptors. i use it on two Festool sanders, a palm sander, a biscuit joiner, and a domino joiner. it just needs the right standard adaptor that fits the particular tool and that the vacuum hose can be plugged into. these are available at any woodworking store.
Will a festool hose fit without an adapter?
Joseph J on Oct 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Have no idea if Festool hose will fit Fein vacuum as I do not own or use any Festool tools.
