Can these be used in a top mount configuration, i.e. upside down from what is shown?
Jim T on Sep 4, 2017
could this be ok for trash pull out ?
swolf on Aug 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't see a problem. Remember weight limitations. I'm using it on upper garage shelf so things don't disappear it the back . Good Luck
Is there any kind of quick release to allow removal of the drawer from slide? Also, can a 19" deep drawer be used with the 18" slide?
A shopper on Apr 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes there is a release that separates the two parts of the slide. Yes you can use a slide shorter than the drawer length. My drawer is 1.5 inches longer than the slide and it works great.
Are they self closing?
Paul W on Feb 28, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Not self closing and not "soft close". They do have a rubber bumper so closing is not a metal to metal "clang". I bought two pair. Each pair supports a laundry basket in a drawer. Good to have the overtravel so it's easy to lift the basket out.
are the installation instructions online?
Steve on Mar 30, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I could not find any online. However, the directions state the drawer should be about 2" shorter than cabinet depth. The glides take up about 1/2" outside the drawer sides on each side, but you should allow a total of 1-1/2" opening width over the width of the drawer.
How wide?
D A on Dec 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: you make the drawer as wide as you like....* a rule of thumb is drawer width is 1 inch less than opening.
Is the track hardware for the drawer included or is only the hardware that you mount to the inside of the cabinet included?
Emily T on Apr 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It is all there.
can drawer height be 8 inch ?
Bill G on Jan 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. This mounts to the bottom so the height is irrelevant. Just the weight is important.
Is the load capacity per slide or per pair of slides?
basement boat on Jan 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I believe it's per set. I had room under the shelf so I used nuts & bolts to secured the unit. Unit can get quite heavy and leverage can be a problem when fully extended. Also, fit can be a little sloppy and the tracks can jump off the wheels.
Good Luck
Can they be cut shorter?
Frank S on Apr 4, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I don't believe that would work. There are indents for the wheels that would be cut off or out of place. Suggest getting shorter glides and the drawer would just not pull out 100%
What’s the maximum drawer thickness that can be use When making the drawer bottom?
Dano50 on Oct 28, 2019
BEST ANSWER: pretty much what ever you want it to be or have on hand. I never found any need to go more than 1/4 but most I use is about 16 18 inches wide it depends on size at 24 inch wide I would go 3/8 or 1/2
is there a pre-made shelf that can be purchased to go with the slides?
Cindy M on Mar 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Depends on what size shelf you need. There are some pre-made shelves available (most likely not at Rockler) but they are standard sizes and depths. You can cut them however. Hope this helps.
Can these be mounted on a existing shelf? What depth shelf is needed?
Edgar D on Jul 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Edgar. If you are asking about mounting to a shelf, I would say no unless it is a permanently mounted shelf capable of supporting the rated slide capacity plus. These are meant to be mounted to the cabinet base shelf (floor).
For depth, I think the cabinet should be one inch deeper (inside the doors) than the length of the slide you get for proper clearance front and back..
I hope this helps you.
How much clearance do you need on the sides?
Steve M on Jan 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They lay pretty flat. Maybe 1/2 ". Used in garage so things wouldn't get lost.
I ended up using nuts & bolts to secure to floor. A lot of leverage occurs when fully loaded and extended.
Good Luck
Do slides have some type of taper in them that will keep door closed ?
A shopper on Jul 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Using slides in garage. Each holding 20-30 lbs. So far, they haven't slid out. There a slight notch that helps retraction. Good Luck
what is the drawer width deduction? OR, how thick is the slide?
Thomas M on Mar 30, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Hi Tom! I deducted 1 3/8" for my pullout- that gave room to clear the door! Each track is 1/2" It is an easy install!
Are the drawers removable for cleaning?
Mildred G on Feb 11, 2020
BEST ANSWER: No. The drawer bottom is secured to the slides with screws. I finished mine with polyurethane so spills would be easy to clean.
What is difference between this item and similar items Item #: 24765 that are about $10 less?
Patty on Mar 22, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It's been some time since I purchased this, but as I recall it was the best fit for the cabinet depth, weight of the load, and rollout distance. It's worked great.
Can these be reversed to mount under a workbench? And if so can the hanger clip to the opposite side so as to hang the slide an inch or two below that surface?
Dliguori25 on Oct 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I would be hesitant to invert these mounts. Under a bench the load would probably be pretty high due to tool storage and the only support would be 4 wood screws per side being installed upwards, and the pull downwards of the weight of the drawer could easily cause failure. If they were an exact fit width wise, could also add lateral screws in the side holes, but I would still worry about the weight capacity.
Who makes this bottom mount slide?
Jay A on Feb 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I am not familiar with the maker but I installed it and it is very stable. I would recommend it to you. It is smooth and has been without fault. We use it every day.
what is the outer distance between the mounting brackets for each model (18" and 22")?
Peter D on Oct 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I made my drawer 1 1/16" smaller than my framed opening and the drawer operates very smoothly. I used the 22" depth and I assume the 18" would be the same distance.
Hello, how much clearance do these slides require from the edge of the opening to the edge of the drawer on each side?
Daneille B on Dec 7, 2016
Floor Mount Pantry Pull-Out Slides
Floor Mount Pantry Pull-Out Slides
Floor-Mounted Drawer Slides with Metal Sides
Floor-Mounted Drawer Slides with Metal Sides
BEST ANSWER: Nor much. I would say about 1/2" or less. If I were buying them again I would buy something that is full extension. If you have tall items it is hard to get to the back items.
What are the dimensions? Will a 18" floor mounted slide work for a 17 3/4" interior?
Robert on Aug 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi Robert, sorry to tell you this, but the side mounts are exactly 18 inches, I just measured one.
I have a 24" cabinet, do I order the 22"?
OneEyedJack on Aug 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: For the cabinet is 24"deep, I would use the 22" slides. This will give you clearance in the back.
Could you make the sliders for a 10 inch depth shelf for a TV
Nancy on Feb 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I need slider to be 10 inches front to back with a additional 9to 10 inch extension for a small 28 in TV
What are the weight limitations? Around how much weight can it handle?
Nyla H on Feb 5, 2020
BEST ANSWER: That will depend on several things, like type of wood used for the drawer bottom and how wide apart the sides are. I built some 14" wide drawers for a pantry that are holding a lot of canned goods front to back with no problem.
What is the vertical clearance of the rail at the back of the cabinet. I have a 22” depth in the cabinet but there is a waterline for the dishwasher along the back of the cabinet, approximately 1.5 inches above the floor. Can I use the 18” slide and make a 20 to 21 inch drawer to avoid the waterline? Thanks
John S on Jun 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, no problem
i want to use this in a cabinet for a pull out garbage can. is there a right angle bracket sold so i can attach a cabinet door to it?
Stu r on Apr 19, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I don’t know.
Do you have 20"? Also, how many inches will pull outside the cabinet?
Frank S on Mar 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I haven't seen a 20" slide. I used a 18"slide for a double trash can application. The install was very simple and easy. The slides work great. The back of drawer comes all the way out to the front of the cabinet.
Distance slide mounts above shelve base ?
Kevin D on Mar 18, 2019
BEST ANSWER: About 2 inches above the floor of the cabinet. I used them to mount a liquor cabinet that weighed about 35 pounds. They supported the weight nicely, but were a bear to install as I had to use bolts through the floor of the cabinet because the tiny 1/2 inch screws were insufficient to secure the load. They did slide smoothly and fully extended muscled oak cabinet. I was very pleased with the product. They have been in constant use for over 3 years without issue.
