Freud Industrial Series Teflon-coated saw blade. Produces exceptionally clean cuts in veneered plywood and melamine.

Features:
  • Designed to produce the cleanest cuts possible in plywood and melamine with no bottom splinter
  • Application-specific super micrograin carbide teeth are 50-60% larger than standard carbide teeth and allow for multiple re-sharpenings
  • Anti-vibration technology eliminates sideways movement against the material for a quieter, smoother cut with a superior finish and long cutting life
  • Laser-cut heat expansion slots allow the blade to expand during use to keep the cut true and straight
  • Permanent red Teflon coating prevents rust and guarantees less working friction and resin adhesion
  • Precision-tensioned blade bodies made of high strength steel (40-45 Rc) stay flat and true throughout years of service
  • Tri-metal brazing technique produces strong, impact resistant bond between carbide teeth and steel blade body

Extremely clean cut - fantastic blade
I cut many sections from two sheets of 3/4" prefinished, Maple plywood for cabinets that I'm making. I did use a zero-clearance insert to help with tearout, and overall I saw no tearout at all. Just a very smooth cut as you can see in the before and after photos where I marked each side of a sample of the plywood with letters A and B. I don't remember which side was facing my zero-clearance insert. Overall I'm extremely pleased with the results of this blade.
Cut plywood side B - no tearout. Did use zero-clearance insert to avoid tearout. Great results.
Cut plywood side A - no tearout. Did use zero-clearance insert to avoid tearout. Great results.

Freud Table Saw Blades
The Fusion blades are my go to blades for almost everything cut. They have many specialty blades which provide even better cuts in specific materials such as plywood. I have been using Freud blades for 20 + years.

Excellent blade
This thing cuts beautifully and you get what you pay for. I bought this blade because I do a lot of plywood cabinet work and cannot have chipping out in my work. I paid $100 for this blade and it cuts like so.

Impressive blade at a good price
I wanted a better blade for cutting melamine and expensive hardwood plywood. This is quite a bit less than the other well-know brand and it works really well. Those teeth are the sharpest I have ever seen on a blade (protect your hands while handling it). I am buying another one since the first had a run-in with the saw stop brake when my aluminum miter gauge fence got too close :( I might try to get it fixed - 3 teeth out of alignment and one carbide tip broken.

Melamine is difficult because of chipping
This is the best blade I have used for cutting melamine without
chipping. The blade is smooth thru the cut both top and bottom
with little effort. I will buy other Freud blades in the future.

Awesome blade. Accurate, clean cuts.
Does everything I ask it to do and remains sharp for a long time. I am on my second one now. ( I had the first one for 12 years and had it resharpened for a back up. ) I've tried other blades, but none compare to Freud quality.

How are angle cuts with this blade in double sided, cabinet grade, veneered plywood ?
Steve S on Jun 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have not cut cabinet grade plywood, but I have cut many feet of BC plywood with this blade on my SawStop table saw. All cuts have been very clean regardless of angle.
Is this a full-kerf blade? This is important due to the riving knife thickness I have is designed for full kerf blades.
Robert H on Apr 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The LU80R has a .126 kerf or full kerf so should be fine with Irving knife
