Freud #TM1465 Insert-Style Spoilboard Surfacing Router Bit, 1-1/2'' Dia. x 1/2'' H x 1/2'' Shank

When the time comes to resurface the spoilboard on your CNC machine, this generously dimensioned cutter will do it more accurately, and in less time than smaller alternatives. At 1-1/2'' in diameter it quickly smooths over any high or low spots to yield a nice, flat reference surface. It can also be used for routing recesses and wide dados. Replaceable carbide insert cutters mean a longer life, and less down time due to sharpening.

edge doesnt last
Possibly I am misusing the bit. I am using it to plane a slab using a router and sled. It only wants to take off about a 16th of an inch at a time, it wants to leave ripples in the finish, and dulls quickly in maple. For the price I would have expected something better.
