Didn't work for my purpose.
I installed it on an MDF frame that was 46x20. Each of the 4 sides was 3 inches wide. I inset a piece of 1/4 inch glass. This proved to be too heavy for this hinge to support.
The frame is used as a see through the table top of a shadow box table used to display sea shells.

Nice, but...
Have bought and used about a half dozen of these over the years. Nice simple feature. But sometimes need adjustment to friction screw to keep it tight. Hard to adjust friction screw sometimes. One got locked up and bent the whole hinge. May be nice for smaller lids, but not larger toybox-type lids.

Friction Lid Supports - Curved
I bought these to replace some that my Dad put into furniture he built for me awhile back. I am disappointed that the new ones are much flimsier than the original ones. They do the job -- so far -- but without the firmness that instills confidence that they will last.

Installation Instructions are wrong & parts are rough
The instructions online at Rockler are wrong. It indicates that all dimensions, for the 3 optional installations, are from the pin of the hinge. The diagrams show dimensions from the face of the cabinet. Also, dimensions on option C don't line up with the picture.
Also, the brace piece that slides over the screw is is rough and grinds on the screw when the lid is opened. I filed the screw threads off where it contacted the bracket but the is still metallic grinding that will likely be there until the brace smoths out.....or until it files he screw in two! It gives my box a cheap feel.

friction lid support
I did not use these because they were

too cheesey and they do not allow for the lid to open completely. I would not even give it one star. I cannot believe these were listed for a 48 x 21 inch 3/4 oak lid.

I intend to use these as cabinet door limiters that prevent the doors from opening beyond 90 degrees. I therefore feel that this product could have a different or additional name that makes it searchable for this intended function.
