Full bed to Queen Conversion Plates
I’ve looked everywhere for something that would allow my queen sized mattress to attached to my antique headboard and footboard that are full sized. The plates I purchased allowed me to securely attach them with no leaning or wobbling. Best solution for my situation!
Full size footboard securely attaches to my queen frame. No wobbling or leaning from bed frame.

Perfect solution
The Headboard And Footboard Adapter Conversion Plates worked very well to convert my antique bed to a queen bed. The antique bed's wooden side rails had previously been cut and an extender piece of wood added to make the rails long enough to accommodate a double bed-sized mattress, so I was not concerned about negatively affecting the value of the bed by drilling holes for the conversion plates. I bought a metal queen-sized bed frame (not just metal side rails) when I bought the queen mattress and box spring. Some metal frames only have places to bolt on the headboard. If you have both a headboard and footboard, make sure to buy the frame that has places to bolt on the footboard, as well. With the converter plates and the metal bed frame, the headboard and footboard are decorative only; they aren't structural. I am very pleased with the way the bed looks.

I would definitely recommend this product, but I wish they had included the nuts and bolts to finish the job without another stop at a hardware store.
So happy to find a simple, easy solution to my problem.

I have my grandmother's 4 post, full-size, antique bed frame that I just moved to my new home, but I have a queen size bed. Will retrofit using these brackets, I most likely will keep the bed on the current frame and use these for decorative purposes.

I have an antique bed frame that doesn't fit modern sizes. I use a full-sized mattrest and just the headboard right now. Is there something similar that would work with hooks instead of bolts?

BEST ANSWER: Sorry no, we do not have any similar brackets to offer for use with hooks.
Will this product accommodate 5/16" bolts, or only 1/4" bolt?
Barb B on Aug 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Only 1/4 "
I'm looking for a double hook on mechanism that can be used for a full size bed and a queen size bed. Both parts have to be hook on. Any thoughts?
bobbi k on Dec 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Debbi, I used to work in the bedding industry, and I have also purchased the double hook-on mechanism for my daughter's bed. Let me say that there are places that sell the frames with the hooks already welded on. The Rockler people can let you know if they have such an item. If that would work with your situation, I'd recommend doing that. The adapters are very difficult to tighten and keep hooked into your headboard/footboard.
Can this product convert a 3/4 bed to a queen?
Janet H on Aug 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Standard queen measures 60 inches, and a standard 3/4 measures 48 inches. These brackets would only get you to the 54 inch width of a standard full mattress. However “sister pairing” two brackets per side could get you as much as 14 inches... enough to fit a 3/4 head board with a queen mattress ( with 7 inches per side overhang). Maybe worth a try. My only use was to attach a new construction head board to a purchased platform / queen and the brackets worked beautifully! Good luck.
My bed has hook on wood side rails. Can I use these?
Susan M on Jul 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, you will need to buy a queen size metal frame, with headboard and foot board attachment points.

Your headboard and foot board become ornamental, not structural.
Can I lower the height on a king metal bed.? ..
A shopper on May 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: You should be able to do so, simply drill new attachment holes below the level of the present ones.

I am looking to use a 3/4 antique head and footboard with twin size mattresses. Will this work?
Erin R on Jul 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: If the side rails are intended to bolt to the headboard then yes. If the side rails have tabs that fit into slots in the headboard the answer is no.
Have an old brass bed, the bolts are four inches apart. Does your brackets allow for two bolts four inches apart?
Karen F on Sep 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Karen, we bought these brackets to attach our full sized wood heaboard to a queen sized bed frame. We attached the frame to the shorter vertical slots. We drilled new holes into the headboard and attached to the two vertical slots. If you're handy you can drill new holes into your headboard if needed..The way I measured it fan not accommodate bolts 4 inches apart. We are very happy with these brackets. Our headboard is a heavy antique and we've had no issues. Hope this helps.
I need to convert old bed frame which is a little larger than full to fit full size mattress. Does this work both ways ?
linda m on Jun 23, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Yes you should be able to flip these around as long as you have access for the bolts that hold the rails.
What kind of rails and where to buy the rails you need?
Debbie L on Apr 29, 2020
BEST ANSWER: These adapters are designed to work with most of the commercially available metal bed frames. You can buy them on line or at any of the big retailers. If you google "Glenwillow Home I-34G Insta-Lock Bed Frame with Glides" you will get an example of one, but there are dozens of models. They generally only have brackets for a headboard, but with a bit of searching, you may be able to find on that has brackets at both ends.
Will this adapter work to attach a full size brass headboard to a queen size bedframe w/mattress?
Nita O on Jan 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If your brass headboard has round legs it definitely will not work. a full size bed is 54" wide vs a queen at 60". Each bracket would need to cover an extra 3 inches. I would recommend attaching a 1"x 4" across the top of the queen frame, then fasten this to the brass headboard. Also I would make sure that your frame has 4 legs so that the weight is properly supported as well.
I have a king wrought iron antique head board and footboard can I use these to convert it to a queen?
Amanda H on Mar 26, 2020
BEST ANSWER: This product which I have used a couple of times is designed to be screwed or bolted onto a wood headboard but if you can drill or figure out a way to attach it to your wrought iron frame, (weld would be one solution), it could be adapted to your application.
Can I use these brackets to attach a regular size bed to a queen size headboard?
Charles U on Apr 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: We used these brackets on a full sized antique oak bed to expand for a queen size box spring and mattress. The bed had a footboard and side rails but in order to convert and accommodate for the queen mattress we could not use the footboard or side rails. It was a compromise we were willing to make. No one can tell that the headboard is 6inches smaller than the mattress. It went together easily and we are very satisfied.
How does these brackets make bed longer?
Elsie D on Sep 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The brackets make the bed wider but you have to make new side rails to make it longer
No hardware included ?
linda m on Jun 23, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I received no hardware or instructions. So, I have not been able to use the product☹️
Can you use the conversion on a platform frame?
Ja bird on Nov 16, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The adapter plate is nothing more than a metal plate with slots for screws/bolts. I recall having to drill into the headboard leg area to attach the plate to that. You’d then have to have a wooden area on your platform base - in the area adjacent - to use another slot to bolt into your platform base.
Can I use this to make my queen size metal bed frame a little longer to work with my sleep number mattress?
Mary D on Nov 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I don't believe so. I think it can only convert width, such as full to queen. I had a portable metal bed frame that allowed me to adjust the length and I used the hardware to attach the queen headboard and footboard to the full size frame
Can I use these to attach full bed frame to queen headboard?
Mimi S on Oct 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes, but ONLY (a) if the cross-member between the headboard legs is recessed from the leg surface as it is in Rockler's photo, and (b) the bed frame has bolt holes rather than hooks. Turn the plates so that the horizontal slots are towards the middle of the headboard. Then, insert the bed frame bolts through the horizontal slots BEFORE attaching the plates to the headboard. A wrench slender enough to fit between the plates and the headboard will be necessary to keep the bolts from turning while tightening the nuts on the inside of the bed frame.
Can this be used on queen headboard and full mattress?
Pam R on Aug 18, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I used this adapter to fit a Queen frame to a full size headboard,so I believe it should work in reverse order!

Rebecca G on Aug 17, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I don't think it will it take bolts and nuts to get them together
What is the vertical spacing between the horizontal slots?
Robert S on Jun 21, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Sorry Robert! Never installed them🥴
I have a wooden twin headboard with vertical slots. I need rails with hooks that fit in the slots or something that will allow me (converter?) to use no-hook iron rails. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Jan L on Jun 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: We bought this set of converters for mounting our universal metal bed frame on to a headboard and footboard that we had. They worked great for that purpose. However, we had purchased this particular set because they were a great price but they were also too light weight. The 1st time anyone slept in the bed, the ones at the footboard bent and the footboard was always tilted instead of upright after that. I would say in theory these work great, but do spend a bit more and get a heavier plate.
Will these work for a full to queen conversion with wood side rails with hooks.?
Patricia Y on Jun 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: You need to replace the side rails with bolt on style like in the picture and drill through the headboard and foot board and bolt them on
