Must have tool!

Don't believe all the negative reviews here. This is a fine piece of equipment, and as far as I am concerned, a must have tool. It is not flimsy or made out of cheap stamped steel as some reviews have indicated. I measured, and the teeth on the protractor head (for angle adjustments) are over 1/16" thick steel. The instructions are clear and easy to follow on how to get the gauge in perfect alignment with your blade and 90 degrees to the table top. The flip stop and is easy to operate and accurately machined. As one review pointed out, the tape measure on the top of the fence does move, but it is supposed to. This allows you to set the measurement accurately for each cut due to the aluminum fence needing to be moved to avoid it hitting the blade on some angle cuts. It is all clear in the instructions, and as with any precision tool, it's best you just bite the bullet and read them!
Some other things worth pointing out, there is a handy scale printed on the top of the gauge which tells you exactly what angle to cut at to make something a certain number of sides. Say your making a segmented bowl blank, and need to know what angle to cut for 15 sides. Just look at the gauge, and it will tell you to make 12 degree cuts to achieve this. Couldn't be easier. Also, the method for adjusting the miter bar in the table slot is extremely easy and can be done without removing it from the table. The whole process of getting a no slop fit took me about 2 minutes.
I rely heavily on the reviews on this and other websites. I don't want to sink a lot of money into something that doesn't work. I was disappointed in some of the reviews here, and after getting the Incra 1000HD, I thought I needed to clarify some of the alleged issues that people are having. I don't want anyone else to be turned off this tool due to bad information!
This is an expensive tool. The bottom line is, if you struggle with the junk miter gauge that likely came with your saw, this will make your life so much easier. The accuracy is unbeatable.

I've been putting off replacing my factory table saw fence. With radial & miter saws, I didn't really see a need. I saw this on sale and said it's about time. Great price/ free shipping, thanks Rockler Clause. Set up was super simple, fits tight on Jet table saw, zero play on table and in fence system. Minor fine adjustments were needed to zero it in, perfect, I am fussy. Adjustments and use are easy and simple. This fence can do it all with repeatable percision. I do agree with other reviews, this unit can be fragil and like all percision tools, measuring tools, needs to be treated with respect. Custom kitchen cabinets are in the planning stage, this will be an asset. I highly recommend this fence.

This gauge doesn't have a single machined part, the accuracy depends on a piece of stamped metal that connect to the alunimum fence. Maybe you get lucky and maybe you don't. The instructions are terrible but you can get through them. There are no instructions on what to do if you can't get your gauge to be exactly 90 degrees or even how to check accuracy of this gauge. Check YouTube for a video on how to calibrate this. The flip up stop needs to have the bolts tightened otherwise when your cutting angled pieces it has a tendency to flip up a bit creating inaccurate cuts. A better idea would have been to put a metal piece in the aluminum fence and a magnet on the flip stop so that doesn't happen.

Just got this in the mail yesterday. I bought it with gift cards from Christmas and got it on sale for a very low price. I spent a good amount of time setting it up according to the very well written instructions and making several test cuts. Everything was dead on accurate. This is my first experience with Incra products, but if the fit, finish, and attention to detail is indicative of all of their products it definitely won't be my last. The only problem I could find with this miter gauge is it is too good for my tablesaw. Now I'm gonna need to buy a new one. This gauge would've been a great purchase at it's regular price, but at the sale price Rockler had it for it's a steal and worth every penny. I highly recommend it.

I have a very hard time believing that it took "many weeks" for Incra to respond. I have been in contact since my interest in this product, and have several email addresses already. I just received my Miter 1000HD and sent a email on the fit and finish and received a response from the dude's Cell Phone. I think you may be fibbing a little on the response time of Incra. I don't know about your issues with the item, but they MOST definitely respond QUICKLY, so stop fibbing...OK
