What is the weight capacity?

BEST ANSWER: I really can't say, in that it is so dependent upon the installation. If mounted in a horizontal 3/4" board it obviously couldn't carry as much weight as if mounted in a 3/4" vertical board. If the installation is in solid wood, not dry wall, I can't imagine anything would overload it. You can't do chin ups on it, but you can certainly hang anything you can imagine on it. The sleeve that supports the sliding rod is 3+ inches long and 1/2" diameter. The sliding rod is 9/32" in diameter and 7 1/2" long. When fully extended, it protrudes 4" from the wall (end of sleeve). As I said, if the sleeve is mounted solidly, it would be hard to hang anything reasonable on the rod that would damage it. When only partially extended it is even stronger...
