Kreg® Rip-Cut 24'' Precision Edge Guide for Circular Saws

Easily cut multiple identically-sized pieces without having to re-adjust your settings.
Item #
86% of 100

The Kreg Rip-Cut™ turns most any circular saw into a precision edge-guided cutting tool that makes straight, repeatable cuts in plywood, MDF, and other large sheet goods. No measuring or marking is required. Instead, the extra-long edge guide follows the edge of the material for a perfectly straight cut and precise dimensional accuracy. Just dial in the measurement you want—up to 24''—using the built-in scale, then make your cut. Whether it's one piece or multiple pieces of the exact same size, the process is simple and quick. Since you take the tool to the workpiece, it's ideal for breaking down heavy sheet goods without a helper. The included Universal Saw Sled accepts most left-blade or right-blade saws (sold separately).

  • Easily rip and crosscut panels up to 24'' wide
  • Cut multiple pieces to the same size with just one setup
  • Extra-long edge guide provides precise control throughout the cut
  • Adjustable fence eliminates need for marking, measuring, and layout lines
  • Take your saw to the material—ideal for heavy workpieces
  • Universal Saw Sled accepts most circular saws, left- or right-bladed
  • Guide is reversible for left- or right-handed use
  • Universal Saw Sled also works with the Accu-Cut track system (#54610, sold separately)

Very handy only problem I experienced was the 2 screws that holds the side plate to the guide that extents the saw guide outward. Called Kreg got the missing screws

Great guide, with one "rub"
Works really well - one issue (I hate to call it a flaw...)
When clamping down a sheet of plywood (in my case with C clamps) on my work bench, the aluminum arm will run into the clamps. If guide had been designed so that saw is attached to the "static" side of the arm, and the edge guide moved this wouldn't be an issue...
Solution: cut sheet on the floor (on top of spacers, bench cookies, etc.) and hold in place with weights.
Other than this one small thing, it's a great addition to my tool kit!

Woodworking Experience:
Solved Long Sheet Cutting
I really like using this guide and it compliments the Kreg 48'' Track Guide. Since they use the same base it's easy to move from one to the other. I have 2 circular saws and have one dedicated to the Kreg system. This makes it much easier to use each without having to install and remove the base plate.

Flimsy. Works better with 1/2 inch and thicker plywood

Woodworking Experience:
Edge guide a bit short
The back of the edge guide lines up approximately at the midpoint of the saw blade, leaving the last few inches of the cut without solid direction. It would be better to have the guide extend 4-5 inches further back to avoid any wobble at the end of cuts.

Seems like a great way to cut repeat, precision cuts + it supposedly will make very sharp accurate, straight cuts. That's very helpful for a person who saws for a hobby vs living.

I took a look at the Dewalt 18v circular saw online and I could not see any reasons as to why it wouldn't be compatible with the Rip-Cut.

Will this work with a mini or compact circular saw?
norurb on Dec 31, 2019
The Rip-Cut was designed for standard 7-1/4" corded circular saws. We have see some 6-1/4" cordless fit but do not have a compatibility chart for saws that fit.

Can I use it with my HIKOKI C 7MFA saw ? HIKOKI is the new name for HITACI ?
Stefan P on Dec 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Don't know about that specific brand. However, I have had good luck with two Porter-Cables, a left hand and a right hand model, and an old Milwaukee. The attachment seems to be very universal and straight forward. Read the instructions carefully.
I have an older guide with a shorter handle. Can I get just the the newer handle?
Ken R on Sep 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I do not know. I would check with the manufacturer Kreg. Possibly, your local Rockler Store could order one if it can be had.
Can I use it to rip an 8ft 2 x 6 or 2 x 8?
Robin A on May 15, 2018
The Rip Cut will work with that size lumber. I would recommend using a support 2x for the end of the aluminum rail so it is supported during the cut.

Hi I would like to know if is compatible with the SKILSAW SOUTHPAW SPT67M8-01? Thanks
chausser on Nov 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for the question. Unfortunately, the Kreg Rip-Cut will not work with this saw due to the thickness of the base plate.
I know it cuts up to 24" , whats the minimum?
Michael J on Sep 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hello Michael,
The minimum cut with the Rip-Cut is 1" for safety reasons.
Thank You,
