A unique lift-assist mechanism makes for easy opening, and doors stay open in any position. Damper enables soft door closing with adjustable speed. Supports install simply along the edge of the cabinet. Left and right-handed models function individually or as pairs for different doors based on torque calculation (Door height {in inches} x door weight {in pounds}/2=inch/pound ratio of support that is needed.)

Lapcon Lid-Supports are fabulous!
Employer challenged me with converting a fixed top panel bridging two towers on either side of a folding (murphy type) bed into an opening lid. The two Lapcon lid supports were surprisingly easy to install and functioned beautifully. The boss was very pleased as was I.

I used this with a 1/2"...
I used this with a 1/2" overlay door. I marked the position of the mounting plate at the end of the lifting arm while the door was in the "up" position. This required me to remove the door to install the mounting plate, but that wasn't a problem with the hinges I was using similar to 37199. Works like a champ.

Since I was already using 3/4" overlay hinges the installation became very easy and the results were great. I also highly recommend these supports for upper cabinets.

Just finished installing them on two doors and they are working great. These are almost a third of the cost of the Blum lifts, I was looking into, and work almost as good. The installation was mostly straight forward. However the instructions are overly complicated. They give you way to many dimensions, that you don't need. The only dimensions you need to worry about is for the bracket on the door. The instructions are for 19 mm 3/4" overlay, it tells you to contact your retailer for other overlays wouldn't you know Rockler TS is closed on Saturday. Well I have a 5/8" overlay, and there are no instructions for different overlays online, so I just used the same measurements and everything worked fine.I will definitely be using these again.

Poor Instructions
Didn't support properly and damaged my cabinet during the installation due to no instructions provided and poor online instructions.

I have some toy box lids that are 63"x32" 3/4" thick oak plywood. Will lapcon lud support work because i also have to have the door close slow to avoid kids from getting their hands slammed?n

BEST ANSWER: No Barry they are not heavy enough for that application. You should go to your auto parts store and get trunk lift.
I am trying to figure out a way to cover work boards for a client. I would like to consider using this, and attaching it to a piece of art, but I think I may need to build a box.?

BEST ANSWER: I'm assuming that you will need to build some sort of recess as the hardware needs some room to operate. I figure out little problems like this all the time. It'd help if I knew exactly what you were do. But I can tell you that they are really strong. I might use the smaller ones next time
