The Comet II Lathe Stand provides a stable, no-nonsense turning station for your Comet II lathe. It is built from rugged square steel tubing for rigidity, then finished with a hardwearing powder coat that promises durability and protection from corrosion. It is adjustable in width, depth and height, ensuring a good fit with your lathe, and a comfortable working height. The specially-designed V-shaped foot brackets open up at both the front and rear of the lathe, providing more foot room as you work along the length of your lathe. Use the included leveling feet to attain a flat, stable surface, or install your own casters to provide mobility if desired.

Very sturdy I would recommend it for anybody and very easy to put together.
Once I got it put together right it works great. I had the feet on backwards lol I hope it work just as great when I get the bed extension. As soon as I got one piece out I knew right off the bat the the stand was well made mind it come with the bolts to bolt down the lathe to the stand. The hardest part was getting the height right for me.

Would recommend to anyone with a mini or midi lathe.
The stand was for the Nova Comet II and it fits well.
Assembly was relatively easy although the instructions were not much help. Easy enough that instructions were not really needed.

I chose this stand because of good reviews, ease of set up, and adjustable height option. As a 60+ year old woman, these qualities are important to me. Also, Rockler offered the best online price!
Linda H on Mar 13, 2018
Already own the lathe but the table it presently resides on is too high. This stand will give us the capability to adjust the lathe height so both me and my wife may continue turning and producing more projects.

What do you recommend for a stand that will accommodate the bed extension?
Bert L on Jan 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Works really good. You won't trip over the leges when they bent out wards
What caster wheels will work on this stand?
G-man on Apr 12, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I do not use caster wheels on the stand but made my own base from 2x4 and put the caster wheels on the 2x4 base.. Once the base was done I set the stand on the base and marked where the rubber feet were. After doing that I drilled 1/2 inch deep holes with a forstner bit and then set the stand on my base. It has made moving my lathe very easy. I thought someone told me that there weren't caster that would fir on the stand and that is my I built my own base.
Do you recomend using casters on stand?
Chris C on Jan 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Only if they are locking casters. I'm fine without them.
Rocklers website description of the Comet II Lathe stand states that : This stand is not compatible with the Comet II Bed Extension. Yet some of the comments here implies that the stand will accomodate the Comet II bed extension. Which is it?
James B on Jul 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There is currently no extension for the Comet II Lathe Stand. If you are adding the lathe extension Technitool recommends that you place the lathe and extension on an alternate sturdy work surface.
Are casters available for this stand? I need to move my lathe around the shop.
Tony H on Mar 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I had the same problem but there are no casters available for the stand. I had a set of the Rockler heavy duty casters and was able to drill and tap out the leveler mounting holes to mount the casters. This solution is working well for me.
