Make a Cutting Board Class

In this hands-on woodworking class, you'll make your own hardwood cutting board complete with a handle cutout and juice groove!Using beautiful domestic cherry wood and a variety of Rockler tools and jigs, you'll learn fundamental woodworking techniques to create a durable and functional piece that looks great in any kitchen. The finished board will measure approximately 3/4" x 12" x 16".

What You'll Do:
-Learn to glue up a cutting board blank using Rockler's Mini Deluxe Panel Clamps
-Experience Rockler's unique "Pay-It-Forward" process - the board you flue will be used in a future class, and you'll receive a pro-glued board to continue your project
-Flatten your cutting board using a drum sander
-Square up the board using a table saw
-Route a handle cutout using Rockler's 4-in1 Cutting Board Handle Routing Template and a compact router
-Add a juice groove with Rockler's Juice Groove Jig
-Sand all edges, corners, and surfaces until smooth
-Apply a food-safe furnish (Odie's Oil)
-Install non-slip rubber feet to complete your board

Hands-On Table Saw Safety: Rip with Confidence Using Micro Jig GRR-Rippers

Saturday, March 7th Noon - 2pm

Don't miss this exciting, free, hands-on demo where you'll have the chance to confidently rip hardwoods on a table saw!

Our expert demonstrator will guide you through the powerful features of the MicroJig GRR-Ripper+ with SafeRip Kit and the GRR-Ripper2 Go Push Block, showing how these tools ensure both safety and precision. This is a rolling-format demo, so you can drop by anytime between 12pm and 2pm, but the real fun is when you step up to the table saw! You'll get to use the MicroJig push blocks to make your own rip cuts (participants must be 18 or older for hands-on participation).

Whether you're new to the saw or a seasoned woodworker, you'll leave with a new skill and the confidence to rip safely every time.

Make your own Mini River Board 2 - Day Class!

Saturday, March 21st and March 29th

In this hands-on, two-day woodworking class, you'll create a stunning mini river board using beautiful domestic walnut hardwood and colored epoxy. You'll learn the fundamentals of epoxy work, shaping, sanding, and finishing while building a functional serving - style board complete with stainless steel handles with a brushed brass finish and rubber feet. The finished board will measure approximately 10" x 18" x 3/4".

This beginner-friendly class is split into two sessions to allow time for the epoxy to properly cure between steps.

Class Dates & Times:

• Day 1: Saturday, March 21st 10am - 1pm
• Day 2: Sunday, March 29th 12pm - 3pm

What You'll Do:

Day One - Design & Epoxy Pour

• Select two walnut boards from a variety of domestic hardwood pieces
• Trace and cut your custom river shape using a template and jigsaw or bandsaw
• Prepare your pieces for casting using Rockler's Silicone Casting Mold
• Mix MAS Deep Pour Epoxy with dye and pour your river design

Day Two - Shaping & Finishing

• Remove your board from the mold once fully cured
• Flatten your board using a planer or drum sander
• Drill handle holes using a drill driver
• Finish sand all surfaces using random orbit sanders and hand sanding tools
• Install stainless steel handles with a brushed brass finish
• Attach rubber feet to the bottom
• Apply a food-safe finish (such as Odie's Oil)
