this is a nice plan and easy to follow for someone with a little experience but may be a bit of a challenge for a beginner. The materials list was accurate. The finished product looks great. I would recommend these plans to a friend.

Picnic Table Bench Combo Plan
The plans were pretty easy to follow and I followed them to the T and everything came out perfect. However I think you need some good working skills to achieve these results.

grreat table
I have made two and a half tables so far. plans are good but I used CRES hardware (screws and hinges) and pressure treated lumber instead of cedar. a little issue with getting the edge of the table half lined u and level with each other but otherwise a very useful design.

Picnic table rotted. Need a new one. Have looked for a pattern for a bench/table before. This looks like it will do the trick. Do wonder about a way to stabilize the matching of the table tops on the lawn as that is where this one will be used.

What holds the 2 table halves together and what keeps them level with each other? Most lawns are uneven.
Tom M on Apr 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Nothing holds them together. It works best (as a table) on a level surface. However, it will work on a lawn - you just have to do some leveling (shim the legs up so that the fit is good).
does this plan include everything for 17.94?
A shopper on Apr 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Not sure what you mean by "everything?" The "plan" you receive has a bill of materials, cutting layout (what pieces are cut from which boards), dimensions of pieces (to include angles of cuts; most are 90 degree with a few being 15 degree as well as several that have 15 degree bevel cuts), a few photos, and instructions for cutting, "machining," and assembly of parts. I was pleased with the solidness of the bench/table, when complete. Happy Building.
What tools are needed?
Gary k on May 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: My kids and I built it with a chop saw and drill. If you have a local lumber yard, sometimes they will cut wood to specific lengths for you. A skill saw would do just as well as a chop saw. After that, it's just an issue of screwing the parts together. Make sure you have drill bits for guide holes and the correct bit for the size of screw you choose. The plans were very well written. We didn't feel like we were guessing at any point. I highly recommend these plans. :)
can I purchase the hardware for this project?
A shopper on Aug 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hardware is standard type items. I was able to purchase all at Lowes.
What is the height of the finished table?
D S on Mar 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: About 34 inches.
is there any way to keep the table from falling over if a small child climbs on it ( the picnic table bench combo ) ?
ron b on Dec 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: When the two benches are placed together to make the table it should not fall over. If you use just one bench configured into a table you lose the support to keep it from tipping. I would not use it that way. You could place it against a wall or some other support to prevent that though. I still would really only use it as intended which is to place the two benches together to form the table. As a bench if a child climbs over the back rest I could see the bench tipping just got to keep a good eye on the young ones in that situation. Good luck and enjoy.
Are the plans hard copy and mailed or accessed online once the purchase has been made?
Alan S on Sep 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The plans will come in the mail.
for those that have built the tables, how much did you spend total for the project? (not including the $15 for the plans) just trying to get a estimate as to how much it will be.
britt on Feb 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hello,
I made the table from cedar so it was expensive.
I hsve close to $350 in materials for the table.
Less expensive wood would reduce your cost.
Have fun.
Can the bench be used as a table without putting them together to make the full table? We are wanting for a boat dock so they would be flipped to be used as a table but never pushed together.
Andrea M on Nov 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I'm sorry but I've not yet built this project. I chose the design though because the table will be used in a small room and I want the benches to face easchother
What is the dimensions when the benches are folded into a picnic table?
Uddhava on Apr 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Total footprint is 5ft.x5ft.; table top is 32in.x5ft.
how does it work on dirt instead of concrete or patio?

BEST ANSWER: MINE IS ON MY DECK. I DON'T SEE ME HAVING ANY TROUBLE IF I PUT IT ON MY LAWN BUT I NEVER HAVE
Are these plans for Lumber sold in the United States or Europe? I have purchased ones set of bad plans?
Roger M on Jan 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The dimensions are in feet and inches. Where you buy lumber is irrelevant if thats what you are talking about.
