Porter-Cable Collets for Routers

Item #
96% of 100

These 1/2", 3/8", and 1/4" collets allow routers to accept 1/2", 3/8", and 1/4" shank bits, respectively. Each works great as a replacement part or an accessory adapter to expand a router's versatility. Quality construction and auto-release capability ensure optimal operation.

All three models offer auto-release functionality. The collet is held captive in the collet nut, causing the collet to automatically release from the arbor as the nut is loosened. The router bit, collet, and collet nut are removed as a unit to prevent "frozen" or stuck router bits.

Will this collet work with my router?

All three models fit the following routers:

  • Porter-Cable 690 Series routers
  • Porter-Cable 7529
  • Porter-Cable 7518
  • Porter-Cable 7519
  • Porter-Cable 7538
  • Porter-Cable 7539
  • Porter-Cable 7537
  • Porter-Cable 890
(1) Porter-Cable Collet

It is good to have this size collet in your CNC tool box.
As I expand my CNC experience, I had a lot of different size bits that I wanted to use. I needed this collet, and it did fine.

forrest k on May 18, 2017
My Sears router was long in the tooth so I purchased a new Porter Cable Fixed Base Router at an auction to replace the older one. However the 1/4" router bits I have did not fit in the 1/2" collet that came with the router. Until I went to use it, it had not occurred to me that there were different sizes. Now my project is over a week out before I can finish it, but at least I'll have the right collet.
