Marine Application
The Rockler push-button latch was the only one I could find on the internet with a 2 1/2" dimension between mounting screw holes which would replace the latches installed in my 2000 Four Winns Vista 298.

In order to achieve color match, I was able to transfer the original button and collar to the Rockler latch with absolute compatibility.

Clever fix for RV drawers
Tired of RV drawers that either have to be lifted and then pulled every time you want to open them, or have a strong compression latch that you have to fight with each time? I've used an number of these catches with great success. The drawers operate easily when you are parked but can be securely closed for travel. I replaced the "gold" knob with a wooden one that I stain to match the drawer. Don't forget to remove the compression mechanism or replace the "liff and pull" RV slides.

I own a class B RV...
I own a class B RV that had one of these push button latches in the hang-up closet. Shortly after I bought the used RV, the latch failed (worn out). So, I began searching for one like it and found it at Rockler. I winced at the price, but winced worse at the thought of having to rework that closet door with new hardware. So, I ordered the latch. It came quickly, arriving in perfect shape; installed in minutes and works like a charm. My RV is 10 yrs old. If the latch I replaced was original, then I hope to get at least 10 years out of the new one.

I used them because of the...
I used them because of the positive catch they provide. The only flaw is that the spring pushing the knob actuator pushes the actuator slightly out of alignment so the knob will not center and produce a beautiful finish position. The mechanism works perfectly in spite of this minor flaw and shouldn't keep you from using them if you have the need for a flush mounted locking catch. They keep the doors and drawers closed in my VW bus cabinets even in rough terrain motion.

Positive Action Push Button Catch
I bought these because functionally, they are ideal for a Motorhome. These lock drawers closed and prevent them from coming open during motorhome movement. Another plus is that they are self indicating, that is, you can look around the motorhome and in an instant you can tell if all the drawers are locked. The down side is quality. The quality is low, the coating is poor and the price is much too high. In a short time, the finish becomes dull and some of them wear out and the action becomes less than desirable. Still, I haven't found a suitable replacement. I will keep using them.

Have looked off and on for...
Have looked off and on for years to find this type of latch. This one fills the bill except for two things. First, as other reviewers have stated, there is no brass in this product just gold colored plastic. Fortunately, for me, the latches are used infrequently so they should last. The second issues is one of safety. In my application I had to use the metal bracket provided instead of cutting a slot into the frame. The bracket is a thin metal angle that hangs down. If you have to stick your head inside the compartment as I do, there is danger of cutting your head on the bracket's sharp edge. A better bracket design is recommended.

My motor home has these knobs...
My motor home has these knobs on every drawer and cabinet and work well except for two which I just replaced. I also would hope they would look into making the knob metal and not plastic.

We have a feather lite luxury motor home with these push button catches on the drawers, one of them broke, so we got a replacement for it, and a few extra ones to stock up on.

We built a house 20 years ago and used this latch on a laundry cabinet and it worked perfectly. The old one finally needed to be replaced, so I have purchased a new one to replace it. Love the latch because it doesn't stick out, is flush with the cabinet.

BEST ANSWER: This item is not currently available in finishes other than as shown.
Is the inside mechanism metal or plastic???
Lyle M on Aug 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The internal mechanism is metal; just the button, trim and case are plastic. This doesn't operate very smoothly--gets hung up a lot, but may be the only choice for certain installations. Good luck!
