LOVE the respirator!
This respirator is very comfortable to wear. I can talk to others and they can hear me well. It has made a huge difference in the dirty work that I do in sorting and grading alpaca fiber.

Worth owning
I have used this quite a bit since I purchased it. It does conflict with wearing my goggle type prescription safety glasses, so I wear my regular policarbonate glasses when using the respirator, and it works very well. The airflow provided is strong enough to help prevent fogging of my glasses and yet gentle enough so not to be distracting while operating almost any type of woodworking machine/ tool and keeps me from the harmful dust.

Excellent respirator, much better and more comfortable than any passive dust mask. Battery life seems pretty good also. I would buy this item again.

Woodworking Experience:
Respirator Actually Works
This respirator works far greater than any mask would work. By pumping filtered air into the face piece, and building up a positive pressure inside the face piece, virtually all of the dust is removed from your breathing. My only negative comment is the way the mask fits over the bridge of my nose. But, that is probably due to the size of my nose.

Great quality, Great value
This masks makes mowing grass and woodworking easier for my husband who has COPD. He used to refuse to wear a mask because he couldn't get enough air. With this mask if pumps fresh air right into the mask!!

Chester C on Dec 4, 2015
I purchased this to help with my dust situation in my shop. I wasn't ready to fork out the cash for the full pressurized face shield yet, regular dust masks caused my safety glasses to fog up and without a mask I would start coughing fits. This mask solved all 3 issues. It is probably one of the best purchases I have made in a while.

Power Air Respirator Replacement Cartridge
BEST ANSWER: NIOSH approves both filters and face pieces together. Without NIOSH approval of the complete unit this respirator has no credibility of its performance.
Am I missing something in the description. I don't see an N95 rating or a NIOSH rating. Without it how do we know the filter even works?
Mike S on May 31, 2015
BEST ANSWER: internal there is a a P1 filter,(dust and particle) external there is a white cloth filter. You can see the filter working by the color of dust on the outside.

I do a lot of fine sanding that generates a tremendous amount of powdery dust. We have a Jet air filtration system and I wear a Dust Bee Gone mask but I still feel dust on my lips and in my nostrils. I am a woman with a fairly small face and the Dust Bee Gone mask doesn't come in a small and there are many gaps. Will this power air respirator be small enough to fit my face?
Leslie Y on Apr 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I am a 5"2" 130lb woman. The respirator was too long for my face and I had to return it. The top half fit fine, but the bottom extended too far past my face to create a seal. I use the blue Dust Bee Gone mask and have the same problem with some dust getting through.
Hello, will this work against adhesive fumes? Cyanoacrylate to be exact. I use it everyday for work and my 3m respirator with venting machine isn’t working for me anymore. Looking for added protection.
Thank you

Any information on using for sandblasting? We use an aluminum oxide media that is extremely nasty stuff.. Bearded guy looking for better protection.
Rick G on Jul 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I think you should find a more serious system than this one. You need a more positive air flow to keep the silica dust at bay, especially when you have a beard. I also am a bearded guy.
I have one of these respirators and it quit working. I took it in to an electronics shop and he said that the connection in the unit was no longer working. Can this be repaired?
Bill B on Dec 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: SHould be able to re-solder the connection. Any half competent elec. Should be able to fix it.
Can you wear a full face shield over this?
Leon S on Jan 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You could but the shield will come complexly down.
What is the smallest particle this will filter? The NIOSH-approved P100 filters on some other face masks (for example, the 3M 7500) filter 99.7% of particles 0.3 microns and above, which is where you want to be health-wise.
Dusty on Oct 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I found this too bulky to use and returned it. I use the Ellipse 1000 mask available from Highland woodworking.
Can this unit be worn with a turners face mask?
Dianne L on Sep 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I tried to use this with a full face mask from Home Depot, middle price range, and it would not work. The filter sticks out quite a ways, and you can't pull the mask down. I don't use this when the project requires full face protection. sorry!
Is respirator OSHA approved. ?
Stuart T on Dec 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't think it is OSHA. It is just a little plastic device suitable for personal but not business use. I'm really glad I had it for one project, but I would not use it for long-term daily business.
where can I buy a second power pack for a power mask?
ronald p on Jul 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hmm, I'd say try the manufacturer. In the absence of that I would go to eBay for a new power supply with same volts/milia ps. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful
Can this respirator be used for asbestos abatement?
A shopper on Jun 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Asbestos is such an insidious, dangerous substance to your lungs (even in small doses. In my opinion, nothing short of professional abatement gear (butyl rubber suit and full respirator) is adequate for protection. However: Can it be used? Yes, it is better than a paper mask but I wouldn't trust my lungs to it.
