Excellent Results, Great Price
I've just barely started using this planer, but am very pleased with the results. I had to sell my old school planer and make room.

The planer works extremely well. The first boards i did (shims to set it up to work alongside my miter saw) were smooth as glass. I was able to plane them to exactly the right thickness that the outfeed tables are at the same height as the base of the miter saw.

MY biggest complaints are about the owners's manual. It is wrong in one instance, how to change/rotate the knives, but I figured out how. It is easier than they describe.

Also, it says to adjust the zero on the infeed indicator but doesn't provide any information on how to do that.

However, these are minor faults and I'm very pleased with my planer.

Fantastic change
I was hoping for a quieter alternative to a Dewalt 734 planer I previously owned and this has been terrific. It is much quieter and the planing has been really clean and satisfying for a cheap alternative to spending 2k on a 15 inch helical head planer. Absolutely worthwhile for a hobbyist woodworker.

how does this perform in comparison to the 13 inch Dewalt board planer?

BEST ANSWER: I found it much better, even after changing the blades on the Dewalt. I haven't yet tried it with an exceedingly wide, hardwood board, but it had no problem with 6" walnut. The suction seemed a lot better too with the smaller shavings.
