Very nice tool to own.
I wanted a better spur center for turning than the one my lathe came with and noticed this had a lot of teeth. Figured it would grip better. However no where online or on it does it say the point is spring loaded. That alone makes it so much easier to engage the spikes and get a good solid grip every time.

It is a very nice addition to my lathe.

Works like I expected it would. When roughing from square to round it released a few times because I'm a NOOB and don't really have a clue. Looks and feels like quality

I hope it will keep my work piece from losing grip.
I don't want to scar the piece.

Most of my turning tools are Robert Sorby and they have always been great tools

I have been told these are safer and will help with catches.

The Sorby Stebcenter provides a much more secure bitt into the wood and prevents wood from being damaged if a stop occurs while tooling.

Will it fit delta lathes?
Charles B on Oct 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi Charles,
A #2 Morris taper is pretty universal for all mini and midi lathes. It's hard to answer your question without knowing which lathe you have. Normally a #3 taper is used on heavy duty lathes capable of turning 50 lb. chunks of wood or even larger. Hope that helps.

Chewers,
Ray
