Our Heavy-Duty Cross Dowels and Bolts (#36073, sold separately) provide an excellent way of assembling the base of your workbench or any other rugged frame. The 1/2'' thick steel bolts resist racking like no other, and allow easy disassembly if you need to move your workbench or other large item. This Drilling Jig, designed specifically to work with the Heavy-Duty Cross Dowels, simplifies the process of drilling the holes needed for the hardware. Not only will the holes be straight and square, they'll also be properly located so that the hardware cinches up tight for a stable frame.

• Easily create strong knock-down joints using our Heavy-Duty Cross Dowels and Bolts (#36073, sold separately)
• Simplifies the process of drilling the precise holes needed to install cross dowels
• Perfectly positions the holes, and ensures they are straight and square to the surface so that the hardware cinches up tight
• Two interchangeable drilling guides with hardened-steel bushings let you drill the holes needed for both bolt and cross dowel
• Drilling guides switch out easily and secure in place with twist-lock mechanism
• 9/16'' drill guide is used to drill holes for bolts; 3/8'' drill guide is used with 7/8'' Forstner bit (with 3/8'' shank) to drill holes for dowels
• Jig base incorporates multiple center marks/notches to make alignment easy
• Large dedicated clamping area for securing the jig to your workpiece
• Underside of jig base features erasable areas for making registration marks for the fence to speed adjustments in repeat applications
• Fence on jig base locates holes on workpieces from 1-1/2'' to 3-1/2'' wide
