As a final sharpening step, this two-sided honing strop can polish your woodworking hand tool edges to a wicked-sharp, mirror finish. We've sized the strop to a generous 3-1/4'' wide x 8-1/4'' long to hone your larger plane irons, drawknives, adzes and knives as well as chisels and other smaller edge tools. Its two top-grain cowhide faces—one rough and one smooth—sandwich a 3/4''-thick bamboo center plate that stays flat. Just charge the rough face by rubbing it with the honing compound bar before use.
