Rockler Retrofit Double Featherboard Kit
A featherboard holds wood snug against a fence for a safer and cleaner cut when ripping, routing, drilling and more. Easily increase your featherboard height for vertical routing operations by adding this kit to your existing Rockler Table Featherboard (#53677, sold separately).

Don't have a Rockler Featherboard yet? Purchase the retrofit kit with our Rockler Table Featherboard (#53677, sold separately) to make a double featherboard for applying pressure at the table level and at the top of the router table fence 3" above the table.

Nice for router table
If you are cutting a rabbet on the router table and want the work piece on edge, this is a very nice safety device. Keeps pressure towards the fence and reduces the chance of kickback.

Re purchase of featherboard kit...

The initial kit that was sent to me had one bolt that could not be used in the Rockler featherboard track bars; i.e. oval head as opposed to round head. I requested a replacement. Much to my surprise, Rockler sent me an entirely new kit. I was impressed. Rockler is obviously concerned about customer satisfaction.

I have been constructing shutters for my basement windows. I made my own louvers using my router table and the Rockler louver bit. The featherboard kit was used in this process in order to apply pressure to the center of 2 1/2 inch louvers. It worked really well and contributed to a good result.

Based on my experience I have no hesitation in recommending Rockler for woodworking requirements.

Feather board is great, space so so
The feather board part of this kit is great. I have used others brands but prefer these. This spacers are just fair There are a couple of issues. They align the two boards which is great for a flat board but not for shaped pieces where you'd like to set the distance differently. And they are too thick for many applications like making cabinet door rails. A set of cylinders with different thicknesses would be more universal.

Being smart about safety.
I work with wood alone. I do not have a helping hand. So, the use of featherboards can go a long way to providing the extra hold down away from the cutting edge or near the cutting edge.

I've been wanting this upgrade to the featherboard for safety with wider boards and especially when the boards are on edge. It is a fine product and all that I anticipated.

Where can I buy the long screws on the retrofit feather board? I want them to be about 4" in length. Thanks
Jackie J on Jan 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Using a these feather boards in a "T" track will allow a toilet flange bolt to be used. Using them in a miter slot requires expanding the slotted bar to the sides of the miter slot. The bolts supplied for this application ARE unique bolts. They are 5/16 - 18 thread and flat head is smaller than a standard flat head bolt, in addition there are 2 "wings" on the taper of the flathead that fit into the split of the bar that prevent the bolt from spinning when the knob is tightened.
Can you stack more than one for a taller featherboard?
Ted K on Sep 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, but you have to build an extension kit to make it higher. And make sure it's stable or it could be dangerous when you are sawing on the table saw.
what is the maximum travel for this feather board?
Woodrat on May 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Actual travel movement is 4-1/2". From the right edge of a miter slot, the ends of the featherboard extend *roughly* 1-1/8" to 5-1/2". If you already have the regular featherboard, this is the exact same piece, but with longer bolts and a spacer to connect the two featherboards. The featherboards themselves have no upper or lower designation; they are interchangeable.
will this work on a bosch router table t slots ?
