Nice quality, good price
I got this on sale at $169.00. I built my own router table to use it with, and ended up with a great router table at a fraction of the cost.

I use this to make planing forms for building bamboo rods. Measurements need to be within a couple 1/1000ths of an inch. Using a micrometer I can do it with this lift. Works well and simple to use- I'm a first time router user.

A Wonderful Upgrade, But Know This . . .
This is an essential upgrade; besides it looks cool, and the screws are smooth and perfectly milled. But there are some things you need to know:
(1) There are two size plates for lifts. Measure before you order.
(2) If you don't have one of the listed compatible routers, you are going to want one. It is essential to have the right router. You will appreciated a two wrench bit change procedure, rather than a spindle lock.
(3) You will appreciate variable speed in a router. You are going to be using lots of larger bits, which should turn at slower speeds.
(4) Setup is very easy if you have done it before; if not then the pictures are confusing. The way this works is there is a tension lever (like on road bicycle tires) that releases the two collars that will hold your router. The lever has three positions. (a) clamped down holding the router tight, (b) first release, and (c) second position which spreads the radius of the collar enough to slide one of the compatible router right in.
(5) Before you install the router, put the black plate on the blue base. Your fully raised position should be about 1/16" below hitting the black plate. This should let the collet rise through the black plate and allow easy bit changes, without having to take the plate off every time you change the bit or collet.
Just buy the lift and don't look back. You will thank me later.

Very solid and well engineered. Holds my old Porter Cable 690 perfectly and lifts it smoothly.
Part of an upgrade of my old Delta contractor's saw. Used template and leveling.kit sold separately
Lifts my Porter Cable 690 high enough to change bits from above which is a big help

Have been watching YouTube videos on how I can make my own Router Lift because I have been looking for one and prices have too high to justify. That is until this deal came along. Why spend the time making my own when this will be as good, if not better and I will be up and running with it as soon as it comes in.

Scot M on Sep 3, 2015
will this lift accept the Kreg PRS3040 Precision Router Table Insert Plate Levelers?
sefuexelagujero on Apr 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The Kreg PRS 3040 levelers are designed to use in a table opening with a 3/4" radius on each corner. The radius on the Rockler Router Lift FX is 3/8". This difference would create a void that could hinder the optimal operation of your table.
can I use 1613 evs in fx lift?
George on Jun 30, 2015
Will this fit on the Bosch 1181 Router table? Think the 11 3/4 inch measurement is fine but the 8 1/4 inch measurement is too short.
Steve M on May 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This will only be suitable for tables that use an 8-1/4" x 11-3/4" plate size.
What replacement insert goes with this plate? I would like to buy some blanks and make my own holes.
Paul C on Aug 5, 2016
Will it fit in the Kreg router table? I can't find the insert dimensions.
Murphy S on May 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The lift has a 3/8" corner radius so it will not fit a table with a 3/4" corner radius. However, it can be adapted to a table having a 3/4" radius by filing the corners on the lift down to a 3/4" radius. The insert is aluminum so this wouldn't be a difficult task.

Will a Makita 1100 router work with this lift. The Makita 1100 has a 3 1/4 motor?
Steve E on Nov 8, 2016
I have one of Rockler's older table-tops without the screw hold-down in the corners. Will the plate sit flat in that? Are the "newer" plates thicker, bigger, etc...?
Daric M on May 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Sorry I do not have a direct answer but, You could install your own threaded inserts. This would allow for some adjustment. Most all table plate holes, are slight deeper then needed. This is allows for some depth adjustment. If your table is made of wood or Composite, it would be possible for you to use your own router to modify the depth of the hole. Then it could match the hole size needed or modify the table to provide height adjustment. Hope this helps

It states what routers its for, but when it shows dewalt router it has an aster behind it. I can't find out why, does any body know?
A shopper on Apr 21, 2015

I have a Porter Cable 895 router kit with its own crank system. Why would I need a $200+ Router Lift FX or similar unit instead of a $60 router plate?
Bob F on Jan 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: A plate will suffice, the lift will give you stability and precise adjustment advantage.
What is the silver screw for that has an approximate 1 " bushing on it?
A shopper on May 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It fits in the hole to the right of the bit. It's used in conjunction with a bit with a bearing to assist in guiding and stabilizing the work piece.
it there an insert that will accept a porter cable style bushing?
John Mathis on Jan 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Sorry, John. I never got that far as the lift ended up not being compatible with my Kreg table. If I recall though, I had intended to mount a 690 on it and it was capable. I did return the lift but for no other reason than the plate dimensions.
Will the router lift accept Makita half inch routers?

Does this unit have a starter pin? Where?
Mary E M on Jun 28, 2018

Does lift accept large 3-1/4hp and up?
Mike F on Dec 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It will only except the proper diameter with a little adjustment to smaller or larger size, about 3 1/4" I believe, have to measure for sure. I know I tried a smaller dia. and it would not go small enough and had to buy a different router, went with a Bosch. Not sure if it could hold up to the 3 hp either. Sorry not to be much help. Insert plates are thin also, have to shim up mine by .008" or you have jumps going through from one side to the other, and that is with different inset plates too.
I plan on building this into a new workbench. How much room should I plan on, beneath the table when the motor is in the stowed position? I have a 690 Porter Cable Motor. Thanks
Chuck Y on May 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I just measured my set up. It is 8" from the bottom of the table to the bottom of the router when it all the way down. You may want to add another inch just for good measure.
Are the inserts held on merely by screws? Is there some form of quick removal? Having to undo a bunch of screws any time i need to change inserts is a huge design flaw and a deal breaker for me.
David E on Mar 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Initially the three screws seemed somewhat bothersome however after that initial experience , I kept my small battery powered screwdriver with a magnetic tip to remove and replace the screws . Placing the screws in a small shallow container to keep them from wandering off helped as well. I am now thankful for a secure and easy way to keep the insert in place .
Will it fit the Bosch GMF1600CE router ? or as its known the the USA MRC23EVSK ?
Matt W on Nov 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This router base will not work with a Bosch MRC23EVSK as the switches are in the base handles and not on the router body. You will need a router body with the switch mounted in the body.
Does it come with the crank?
Erik J on May 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. It does come with crank
What is the lift range on the Rockler Router Lift FX? Will I be able to change out bits above the table or is it necessary to remove the assembly from the table?
Claude Z on Nov 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You don't have to remove the router to change the bits, I can raise the collet above the table, reach under to push in the detent pin and just use the wrench on the collet.
