Had a little trouble setting it up but I was alone and the Instructions left a little to be desired. Found the assembly video on YouTube and finished it no problem at all. For one-man shop this is perfect.
Nice machine. A little bit of a challenge to set up but figured it out. Five stars

Love The Saw. Hate The Directions
For a home workshop, it's AWESOME! I would give it a 5 but the assembly instructions kept me from doing so. It was well crated when delivered (very heavy so make sure you have a way to get it from drop point to final area.) If you ordered any extras, make sure to check all the boxes thoroughly. I thought I was missing a part, but it was hidden in with the packing material.

The directions are not very good. I would suggest laying the saw face down and elevated at least 2 feet off the ground if possible (this will make placing and tightening the nuts and bolts much easier.) The directions do not go into as much detail as they should (especially if you purchased the upper/lower extensions) and the pictures SUCK! Way to small to show any details. I think the purchase of the upper/lower extensions and the quick stop guide are critically important; otherwise measuring for cuts would be a big headache. You will need (2) 2x4's and 2 pieces of 1/2 inch thick wood at least 35 inches long and 3 inches wide to attach the upper extensions.

Once I got the rulers properly calibrated, the saw rocks! The only thing that makes it not as nice as the $5000 saws is the fact that the base does not have rollers or ball bearings to help the wood slide easier, but it's really a non issue.

Overall I'm thrilled and it will make my having to cut about 80 sheets of plywood SO much easier on my back! Thank you Rockler!

Panel Pro 2 review
The saw works great, but it would be nice if there was an indicator of where the blade cut is in reference to the measureing tape. I attached a piece of tempered board to the lower rail and then ran the saw to the bottom position to make my reference point.

Woodworking Experience:
overall review of the product
The company should build a metal upper extension with a ruler attachment such as the bottom. having to make one out of wood is cumbersome and cheapens the product. additionally instructions to calibrate all three rulers would be very helpful. Finally a calibrated guide to show exactly where the blade is aligned and cutting would be extremely helpfully.

Woodworking Experience:
If you need precision cuts, this saw is NOT for you. I spent 2 MONTHS trying to dial this saw in to cut nice clean straight lines.
I have to plane the cut EVERY SINGLE TIME, even after tech support sent me instructions that I followed to the letter, this saw will not cut clean or straight. The extension rails along the bottom are not horizontal, so a 4x8 of ply will camber to one side once it reaches past the balance point.

It got 2 stars only because it’s simple to put together provided you have 2 people doing it.

Woodworking Experience:
Very Disapointed
At this point if I could return the saw I would. First, it is useless without the extensions. The documentation is less than stellar. The ruler on the optional extensions have no relation to reality. The blade included is a joke. The ripping blade it too thick for good saw blades. I purchased the saw with hopes that I could cut 3/4 inch plywood (safely) by myself. The stand is too light so you are fighting the saw as you are wrestling the plywood. I plan to modify the stand and anchor it to the floor (so much for mobile) and hopefully make it useful. Otherwise I will have a lightly used panel saw for sale.

To help me cut large sheet material. Iris a nice little set up better than trying to balance a sheet on my table saw. The cut is quite rough ( tore up the plywood badly - had to cut a little large then run through my table saw for a clean cut) with the included blade look to get a different one soon.

Is the Safety Speed Cut Panel Pro 2 free-standing or does it have to be leaned against a wall?
A shopper on May 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It is freestanding. In fact, I have my Panel Pro in the center of my shop. This tool allows me to cut cabinet grade plywood without risk of damage. It is a sturdy tool. I also use it to square up butcher block counter tops I create for my customers. It is a necessary part of my shop.

Can it go downstairs for use in a basement? I bought a 2 x 4 CNC and it was very difficult to get in basement.
Pomeroypap on Apr 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Depending on your ceiling height it should fit nicely! it needs around 6 feet of height to be able to move it iff needed. I actually set the saw up myself and can tell you that you will want an extra hand when taking it down a flight of stairs. Take it to the basement then assemble it....
Does it come with a saw?
Kenneth F on Mar 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it did. We use it daily and it is holding up. It has been a good purchase for us. Kent @ Matrix
Can it cut 4x 8 plywood?
cheng s on Oct 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes it can and better than that.
The description mentions that you can cut plastics. So that means i can cut acrylics.
Rick M on Mar 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't use my saw for that, but with the proper blade, I don't see why not. I would try a sacrificial piece, before cutting your main project piece.
How much does this weigh?, are the extensions very good they look kind of cheesy or do you add in wood between them? Looks like a good deal I have been wanting one, getting old enough running 3/4 sheets of plywood through table saw is getting old I'm a hobby woodworker since Jr, High got me hooked.
David H on Jan 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I believe the saw weighs about 200 lbs. The extensions are actually pretty sturdy and work well. Overall I've been very happy with the saw. Well worth the money.

Can this system cut 3-6 mm thick aluminum acm panels?
Mary R on Jan 29, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I’ve cut .11” (2.7mm) wall panels. Vertical cuts typically no problem. Horizontal cuts were a bit problematic due to high flex of panel. First and last 4-6” of a horizontal cut was usually a bit shallow and had to finish cut thru wood with mini circular saw. Not a problem with the saw construction but due to high flex of panel actually bending at ends thus allowing fir a shallow cut. Therefore with correct blade you might have similar experience if alum is highly flexible.
how easily does a 4 x 8 piece of plywood slide when doing horizontal cuts?
Joe C on Oct 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: the slides easily on the stainless steel runner and I would suggest getting the extensions to help with balancing as well as getting a good saw blade mine cut rough until I replaced it other than that it is one of the coolest most useful tools in my shop
Can this saw be used to cut cored aluminum (max metal) for sign panels?

The picture shows the plywood being cross cut. Is it possible to rip a standard piece of 4X8 plywood with it?
Rick D on Apr 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes. I have ripped 4x8 foot sheets of plywood in both the horizontal and vertical positions.
Can anyone tell me what the dimensions are when the saw is folded up?
Tony S on Jan 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The main body is 5 0"'wide, by 6' 4" tall, and 16" deep. With the panel support extensions the width goes to 8'4".
