Salice Futura Push-to-Open Drawer Slides

A light push is all it takes to open a drawer equipped with Salice Futura Push-to-Open Slides.
Item #
GRP32620
Rating:

Just apply pressure to the drawer front and the drawer opens enough for you to pull it open on glassy smooth ball-bearing slides. The full-extension action provides easy access to the contents of the drawer. Push-open slides are ideal for cabinets without knobs or pulls, either for a clean, modern look, or where space is a concern, such as for boats and motor homes. Since they hold themselves shut, you also won't have to worry about drawers accidentally opening in a mobile environment. Salice Futura Push-to-Open Drawer Slides are fully concealed, with an undermount design that shows off the beauty of your workmanship.

Features:

  • Push-open action allows you to open the drawer without the need for pulls or knobs
  • Totally concealed undermount slides
  • Ultra-smooth gliding motion with excellent rigidity and stability
  • Included front release levers allow quick, easy drawer installation and removal
  • Drawer height adjustment with 3 mm range (about 1/8")
  • Drawer slides accept #6 wood screws or 6mm euro screws
  • Minimum drawer side thickness is 1/2" (13mm)
  • Maximum drawer side thickness is 5/8" (16mm)
  • Load rating is 75 lbs dynamic, 100 lbs static
  • Drawer bottom must be recessed from bottom edge of drawer. Recess range is 3/8" to 9/16"
  • Length of drawer slide should equal the length of the drawer box
  • To find the minimum cabinet depth, add 7/8" to the length of the slide
  • To find maximum cabinet depth (relevant only when using rear mounting brackets), add 2-1/2" to the length of the slide

I don't know why people have trouble with this drew slide, unless they don't understand it, I love them and they work great

Not a regular internet sales company - still outstanding service.
Geoffrey - customer service - took instantly care of one faulty track and replaced it at n/c.

Great guy and company.

The 3 way adjustments work well. It is easy to get the front of drawer adjusted just right without much hassle. The only problem I have is that the drawer I installed them on is wide (36") and you have to be careful to push both sides in at the same time or one side will catch and the other will not.

Looks Good
I am considering this push-to-open slide as a substitute for a Blum soft-close slide. The drawer unit carries and hides an under-counter kitchen trash can, and I am interested in eliminating the need to pull on the drawer front to open it. With the Salice unit, the drawer can be opened with a nudge of the knee, which is perfect for this system. The unit has not yet been put into service, but based on my bench testing I am confident it will do the job. Quality seems comparable to that of the Blum drawer slide.

Great idea, poor construction
As a custom furniture designer/builder, the idea of a push to open drawer is interesting and fun. We put these slides in a high end custom console, which had 3 drawers. Immediately one of the slides failed. Although I like the idea of this type of slide as an option to a soft close style, I can't recommend them. There is
no excuse for the low quality.

Touch open function barely opens drawer. Pull out motion of slide is not smooth. Inconsistent operation. Will have to abandon soft close feature and just use a Blum touch latch.

No Good
The slides glide nicely, but that's the only good thing I have to say about them. The spring mechanism is cheap. The plastic spring holder bends easily and pops out of the metal frame easily. Also had several where the spring shot out across the room. The slides don't have enough power to open a drawer with some weight in it. Frequently the other drawers open when another drawer is being closed. I ended up returning all of them and getting the Blum under mount instead which I'm much happier with.

Springs Pop Out of Salice Futura
I have the same problem as "Keith". My issue with these slides is that the spring pops out...it is not apparent how to replace it. (Salice will send you replacement spring-loaded modules.) My experience is with two sets...four individual slides...and 3 of the 4 had the spring pop out. This became another opportunity for my local Rockler to (once again) confirm the high level of customer service they have always had. I had no hassles at my Rockler store! For what it is worth, I got "King Slides" as replacements...about double the cost, but what use is a cheaper slide that can't be used as intended because the spring is missing?

still looking
If you like problems this is the manufacturer for U! Delicate -- mechanism comes apart in a breeze and height of slides varies by a strong 16th of an inch. Worth it at a 5-6 dollar sales price...for the 40+ I paid for each unit I deserve dinner and an apology. I'm a third generation carpenter with 20 years running my own shop. First and last time Salice will be wasting my time...still looking for a spring that shot out unprovoked...

had a home project and wanted to try them out, the directions were written for an engineer, after some math and re positioning I was able to achieve great results.
Michael B on Aug 11, 2015
It's the latest in that area but, pardon me, it was a great bust. Directions were a nightmare, what there was of them and, consequently, I never got them properly installed. I didn't make an effort to return them because it's just too damned much trouble. I still like Rockler as evidenced by my order. I would rather use the Portland store rather than Phoenix because it's closer.

I need a no-pull drawer system. This is the only one that I've found that fits my space limitations.

These drawer slides are well engineered. They are easily installed; easily aligned. I have used them in last couple years on the fine furniture that I designed and built.

BEST ANSWER: I really do not know. If by "outside" you mean the slides could get wet with rain, I would say no. These things appear to be intended for dry service. BUT, they seem to operate well year in and year out in kitchens and bathrooms where relative humidity is sometimes high. I suggest you contact the manufacturer or a knowledgible vendor for better info.
will these work in a motorhome application?
W I on Feb 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It depends upon a number of things. Is the material in the drawers such that you can drive screws into it? And will your measurements accommodate the guides? Also they are manufactured in England and the mounting instructions are a bit difficult to follow. Everything is ruled by the metric system over there so you'll have to convert metres, etc. to inches. They are, however, an excellent product and you'll enjoy them!
can these be mounted to a shelf?
jeff s on Nov 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: To the underside of the shelf so the shelf moves out. You need something to attach the bottom half of the slide which remains stationary. Hope this helps.
is the material is galvanised iron?
Ahmed I on Jul 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hello Ahmed-- The material is not Galvanized-- it bright steel. Regards -- Albert
How much extra clearance at back do I need?
Martin N on Oct 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It's been a little while since I installed these but I believe they recommend a 1/4" space minimum, I also remember they actually require 3mm of push back clearance to unlock the opening mechanism.
how to install?

Is the rear bracket necessary? My cabinet needs to be a little deeper than the 23 9/16" maximum depth recommended for the 21" slides.
Derek M on Sep 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Actually I never figured out how to install the darn things. Never used them. Sorry I can't help.
