Are you looking to update the hinges on your classic, 3/8" lipped kitchen cabinet doors? Do you want the easy adjustability and clean look of European-style hinges? These Rockler-exclusive Salice hinges are the perfect solution! Now you can retrofit 3/8'' lipped overlay doors (especially common in mid-20th-century kitchen cabinets) with concealed hinges that feature easy three-way cam adjustability. Just mount the specially designed plate to the back of the face frame and attach the high-quality, nickel-plated Salice hinge. You can fine-tune the door's fit with a turn of a few screws on the hinge. And because the hinges are completely concealed when the door is closed, your options for knobs and pulls are practically unlimited!

Best place to find the right hardware.
Finally! I found the right hinges for my cabinets. Big chain stores weren’t able to provide the right ones. Rockler rocks. I will use them again when needed.

Great product! Well made! Good design! As far as I could tell it's the only thing out there that will work for lipped cabinet doors.

Woodworking Experience:
costly but effective
Easy enough to install. Only difficulty was working "blind" installing the bracket. Would recommend a little more distinct cup around the mounting holes for ease of location. Also would recommend more bracket adjustment by slotting the holes a little. Overall, very good product but should be for the cost.

I've used Rockler Hinges for about 12 years. They are invisible on all cabinets, easy to install, and a durable hinge. I highly recommend this hinge who want to transform their visible out dated hinges to a sleek, finishing up-dated look.

We're retro fitting kitchen cabinet hinges; putting newer and better hinges on the old lipped or partial offset cabinet doors. After getting the first two pair installed this morning, I ordered more a few minutes ago. After figuring out how everything fits together, the process is very easy. I'd definitely recommend the concealed hinge Jigit drilling system. These hinges are really good.

Why does the white plastic piece keep breaking off the hinges?
After it breaks off the door does not spring close
Randall G on Jun 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The gray plastic piece is on the door portion of the hinge at the first pivot point from the door pocket.
Do you have to drill out a hole in the cabinet door to have it accept the hinge?
A shopper on Apr 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you would need to drill at least two cups (top and bottom) in each cabinet door using a 35mm diamater forstner bit. The deptch of the cup is specified in the included instructions. I have a drill press and it made the process a bit easier. I also purchased a jig for the cup from Rockler that I modified to line up with the 3/8 lip. Also, you need to make sure that the face frame distance from each side of the cabinet is deep enough to accomodate the special bracket that is included (I think it is 3/4 inch). Check out the installation instructions online. Thankfully these type of hinges provide alot of adjustment flexibility because retro-fitting them requires some skill and patience. I needed to use some shims here and there under the hinge plates when mounting inside the cabinet walls to get the left and right doors to line up and meet without having a large gap in the middle. We are happy with results overall.
How many hinges are necessary for a 45" x 11" pantry door?
Elizabeth T on Mar 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: In my last house, I had 42-inch high doors. I used 3 hinges per door as this is what was recommended in the instructions.
What jig is required for this hinge?
Jody M on Mar 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The recommended drilling template is just about essential. I actually have 3 of them -- one to be misplaced and the other two to mount a pair of hinges. I found the drilling guide for the cup hole to be very nice for setting up the fence on the drill press. Also, I made a block to mark the center of the hinge placement .
Do these open far enough to allow pull-out shelves to clear the door?
Ron Hiner on May 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have these on 4 doors with sliding shelves in them and they do great. They clear the doors with room to spare.
Can you use the jig it concealed hinge drill guide for this or will it not fit right on 3/8 lipped doors?
Carol on Sep 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I did not use that jig since I was able to drill the cup holes on my drill press. The jig would be valuable if you have a lot of doors that are the same. In my kitchen, nearly every pair of doors was different. I adopted a plan to make the centerline of the hinges 2-11/16 from the top and bottom rails of the faceframe. This made the distance from the door-lip 2-1/2 inches as the inset part of the doors was about 3/8".
Wondering if the width of the face frame (from the openining to the side wall of the cabinet) has to be a certain width? Unfortunately mine vary. A few are just flush with no face frame even.
Ashley on Feb 26, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I had that problem one one side of a cabinet above the vent hood where there was no frame to attach the hinge. The solution was to buy and updated hinge and paint it the same color of the cabinets and you really can’t tell unless it is pointed out.
How much weight do these hinges support? I am using 4 on my 12x 60 " Butler pantry doors.
Rinehart on Apr 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have 17 installed last year on doors 47 inches tall with widths of 15 to 20 inches. Doors are maple frame with about 1/2 in thick composite panel, so fairly heavy. They are working just fine. Installing is tricky, I used a support jack to steady the operation of clipping them in -_- I think that is where the real risk is rather than in daily use.
Would this hinge work on 3/8" Inset and Lipped cabinet Doors? Having a devil of time finding concealed hinges that fit these doors for a reasonable price. Thanks!

BEST ANSWER: This hinge worked perfectly for my 3/8" lipped cabenit doors
Fairly easy to attach hinges to cabinets and doors.

Good luck
Is there any way of making these self-closing?
Pamela M on Apr 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The hinges are self closing when adjusted properly. However, if you want soft-close hinges they are also available from Rockler.
Is this hinge zero protrusion?

BEST ANSWER: these hinges work well by they are over priced. You can do the same thing with a block of wood.
how many complete units (hinge + plate) are included in one $30 package?
cabinetReno on Oct 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Each package will contain two hinges and two mounting plates.
I have this type of cabinet door except there is no frame in between where the doors meet. Will these hinges work as there is no adjustment there? Am I able to send you a picture as well?
Judy C on Oct 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The hinge will still work. Use a wood mounting block on the inside face of the cabinet instead of the metal mounting bracket. Then install the hinge directly on to the wood block.
Can the baseplate be used without the mounting bracket?
Ernesto R on Jul 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The baseplate is a common baseplate for several Salice hinges. Since it needs something to be attached to, I would say that you have to have the mounting bracket installed on the cabinet frame.

If I am understanding your question correctly.
Is there a mounting plate that can be used with this hinge on the middle stile of the faceframe?
Marc M on Jun 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The mounting plat that you see at upper left in the photo attaches to the back of the stile. It does not attach to the side of the cabinet. Therefore it should work with any stile. In my kitchen installation I was able to install the middle door in a 3-door cabinet just the same as the other two doors.

There is a learning curve in drilling the screw holes and inserting the screws in the back of the face frame stile. The recommended drilling guide and a flexible driver shaft were quite beneficial as is a mirror to visualize. The project included 28 pairs of hinges and after the first 5 or 6, the process went much faster.
My face frame is 1 3/8 inches deep. Will the piece that attaches to the face frame fit allow the door part to be attached?
John U on Mar 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Sorry no, face frame thickness would need to be 3/4" to use these.
Would this hinge be suitable if I wanted to build out the face frame to be flush with my 3/4” cabinet door fronts? Just wondering what sort of clearance these provide when fully opened and if this new framing would interfere. Thank you!
Brandon L on Feb 25, 2020
I would like to help you, but your question is way over my head.

I bought these Rockler Hinge and Plate for 3/8'' Lipped Face Frame Doors...item #24964. Now what item makes them soft close? There must be a few adaptors hatbox can do this! Thx
Kyleq on Apr 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello, so I have done all of my old kitchen doors with these hinges and they are so great, very expensive I have 28 doors, x$45 =$1260 in hinges. On two of my sets they didn't include the soft closers in the bag. Its as if they were left out somehow. They are a little spring loaded button with a white plastic part that slows down the door as it closes. They simply snap on after the hinges and doors are installed. Rockler or the manufacturer owes me 2 sets of the soft closer attachment pieces. I tried to contact them and so far no luck or response. I can send you a picture of the attachments if you would like. The soft closer piece is not shown in the catalog photos very clearly or at all. Good Luck! Randy
How do I attach the hinges for lipped cabinet door in the CENTER of the cabinet ?? The cabinet has 3 doors. 2 doors have a wall and one does not .
nancy m on Apr 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Your cabinets should have a frame. The plate for the hinge is designed to attach to a wall and frame or frame alone. Look at the sample picture on their site and imagine the cabinet wall isn't there and you have only the frame. There are four screw holes on the plate. You will only use the two holes that are positioned to go in the backside of the frame. The two small tabs on the plate are there to position it against the frame properly. Mark the height properly, align and the tabs help hold the position. Getting in there to screw into the back side of the frames is the hard part! Good luck!
maximum door weight two hinges will support?
Thomas B on Oct 31, 2017

My doors have a 1/2inch lip all the way around them, they are home made from around the 50's. Will these hinges work for my application?

Is the Salice 24964 hinge available with a soft close option?
Dean H on Jul 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: yes it is, its is item #52638
It looks like this hinge would work on 3/8" partial overlay door in a face frame cabinet, right? There's a 3/8" lip/overlay all the way around the door--the interior part inside the lip is another 3/8", for a total thickness of 3/4". Face frame is only 5/8" thick, though--not 3/4". If it would work, can anyone recommend a tool for doing the boring that's bullet-proof? I have no experience doing boring and want to be sure that I don't mess up my doors. (My existing hinges are partially concealed, and they leave an inconsistent gap around the door which is quite visible and drives me nuts. Have tried & tried to adjust the hinges to fix that, but no joy.) Am also considering the Blum® 110° Soft-Close BLUMotion Overlay Clip Top Hinges for Face Frame Cabinets ( Your thoughts would be very much appreciated, and thank you for any information you can provide!!!!
Maggie on Aug 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I think you'll be fine with the 5/8 doors as long you don't mind the thinner look. Don't be afraid of the boring as it is easy and goes well. My doors were 1 1/4 " thick and worked great and the three way adjusting works great.
can I buy just the mounting plate?

This Part # 24964 is for a 3/8" rabbit cut door. Do you have a hinge for a 1/2 inch rabbit cut door? Can this 1/2 inch rabbit cut hinge be mounted to a NON Face Frame but a frame Cabinet?
Don C on Aug 10, 2018
My cabinet doors were made in the 1950's. The lip is 1/2" and the inset is 3/8". This is not common from what I have been able to research. Will these hinges work with those dimensions? The frame is 3/4" so I know I'm OK there.
