Way to make matching salt shaker for antique style pepper mill
My customers wanted a matching salt shaker to go with the antique pepper mills. I turn a salt shaker base the same size and shape as the mill and put these tops on them. I just wish they had them in brass or bronze color to match the mills.
These Salt and Pepper shaker lids are so easy to use, just drill 1 1/4" shallow hole then drill any size smaller for the contents and turn. Very high quality and good finish. I also bought the wood from Rockler. Mike
This salt shaker top is quite easy to install...just drill the right size hole. The only complaint I have is the blue protective film that covers both sides of the top. Very hard to get it off of the individual prongs.
Made salt shaker as instructed here using 1 1/4” hole. The salt shaker came out beautifully using some cherry I had on hand. One small problem was noticed at the end. The caps now require a 1 1/8” hole. Not too happy right now. Glad I didn’t make both pieces though!
