Sanding stars
These work very well on live edges for removing dirt and grit as we'll as peeping the surface for finishing. The finer grits are great for peeping for finishing without removing too much material.

Best purchase I have made this year
The sand stars are fantastic for shaping and smoothing cypress knees that I prepare for craft use. It won't replace sanding mops for de-nubbing, but I will use it extensively on knees. I will see how long they hold up with this use because I've just had them a few days. Excellent product!

I love working with my sanding...
I love working with my sanding star! I do Intarsia and use this for my final sanding. It removes the sanding marks and makes my pieces very smooth! My recent purchase was my 4 or 5th sanding star! I use all 3 stars together and double spaces in between. Thanks, Robin

Get Familiar With Tool Before Using on Special Project
The sander works real well, however, there are no instructions - like are you supposed to stack all three stars on the shaft (looks like that on the picture). The 80 grit made short work out of sanding urethane off of a live-edge koa slab, but I should have practiced on a different piece of wood before taking it to this rather irreplaceable slab. It can leave major scratches in the wood - until you get accustomed to the feel of the flapping and how to control it, then it works great. It is very expensive and they didn't last very long until they were spent.

not agessive enough.
very expensive way to smooth out bowl interiors. Yes, I know a lathe is the proper tool for that usually. Ours are odd shaped. These sanding stars break down too quickly. Takes some practice to use them carefully but it should not be that way. They don't stay flat and do their work.

I will use the sanding stars for smoothing cypress knees and for cnc carving. My wife is and artist and a craft person. We supplement our retirement by sales of these products. I
plan to let you know how well they work for this.
