Rockler Sawhorse Supports

Item #
100% of 100

The one drawback to the ubiquitous and incredibly useful ''sawhorse workbench'' is that it almost always suffers from saddleback. But these nifty brackets from Rockler are an instant cure - just slip them onto the sawhorses and add two 2x4's in any length you desire to create a strong, stable base. Or you can add a sheet of plywood as a top for a sturdy, portable assembly table or for job-site work tables. A simple tool with virtually limitless possibilities.

Saw Horse Bracket Supports
Just got finished with a cupboard door project when I saw the ad for these. I was balancing a sheet of plywood over two 2x6 for a work table. I bought two sets of these and used them on the next project. I used 4 each 6 foot 2x4's with a sheet of plywood on my home made folding saw horses (made them 45 years ago). Very solid, no movement. I even walked on it. Great work surface and it all comes apart and fits flat in the truck. -- Gary

I haven’t been able to construct the adjustable saw horses yet, but I know these are exactly what I need for supporting my portable work bench.

Saw Horse Bracket Supports
These brackets are extremely handy and work well for all the applications I use them for. My primary use for them is when I am working in my finish room and I need to create a long drying rack for mouldings or when I do a lot of drawers or misc parts I drill holes in the 2 X 4's and use blind nails to set the wet finished parts on them to dry.
they also work well for making tables or a large area to lay a full sheet of plywood down to cut to size.
these are an extremely simple but useful item. I have several sets.

Great brackets
Great brackets to increase the versatility of sawhorses. I got two sets and and created two different lengths of cross members to make an outdoor work table or to cut four by eight sheets of plywood on. Great set up.

Bonnie on Jan 30, 2018
Extreamly useful. I use them to make a portable work table that is 4 feet long. The table top is made form 2x2 lumber nailed together and sanded mostly smooth. it makes a very strong table that i can work from on any side. Then store in the garage when not needed. These will be used to make a router table in a similar manner.

I'm in the process of building a portable work table with saw horses and a plywood top. I needed support so the top does not sag.
I elected to use these supports, rather than notching lumber to create a support. This product offers full support to the crossmember. As with a notch in the saw horse and crossmember you loose strength in the parrell supports.
And I can remove the supports and top when not in use.

how many brackets come in a package?
Casey on Feb 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Four brackets, enough to make two 2x4 cross supports to connect two saw horses.
Can I buy them at a store? If which one? I'm in Missouri
Mark C on Nov 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I purchased these at the Rockler store in Cambridge, MA. I can't comment on stores in other states. Good luck. These supports work really well.
What is the actual size of the 2 x 4 used? is it dressed or rough? I'm in New Zealand & our dressed 2 x 4 finishes at 1 3/4 x 3 9/16. (45mm x 90mm). Thanks in advance.
Mike R on Nov 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Mike, in the U.S. a 2x4 is 1.5" x 3.5" so that's what you'll need for your brackets.
How much weight are these brackets rated to carry? As much as the fasteners and 2x can handle or is there a recommended limit? Thank you.
Andrew A on Aug 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I don't know what load they were designed for. But I have them, and they are very strong. I would be surprised if the hanger or screw that attaches the hanger, would be the mode of failure when putting a big load on the 2x4 span that the hanger supports. Instead, I would guess (if you have the typical galvanized saw horse pieces) that the galvanized steel piece sheers at their pivot first.
