Great Project!
I drilledd an additional Lanyard hole in the handle and found this steel to be very hard, should hold an excelent edge. If you wet the provided leather sheeth, you can get a custom handle to fit nicely!
Wet the leather and push the knife and handle into it for a custom fit.
Had laid Micarta handle from tan and green cloth.

Personal Gift
This was a gift to my father from my three sons. They shaped and assembled the handles and the grip. All seemed to be high quality components including the sheet. Only issue is sheeth was a little narrow. If we made the handles thinner it would fit better in the sheeth but not so good in the hand. Just keep that in mind is the handles have to be pretty thin to fit in sheeth.

Fun project
I have made 4 Sarge knife kits and they have all been fun. For this on I used lignum vitae wood. That was a treat. There is no finish on this I sanded it to 400 grit and polished it with a T-shirt rag. The natural oil gave it a beautiful finish. I may still put a top coat on it, but I love it like it is. For the sheath, I used some coconut oil on it. This gave it an antique look and conditioned it so it was more pliable to slide the knife down into it. All in all I again had a fun time making one of these knife kits.

Great stainless stock, thickness and weight is perfect. Wasn't crazy about aluminum pins so I replaced them with brass located from local hobby store. After etching blades with a seen on one side and name on other. I made 25 for Christmas gifts. They made a very enjoyable project that will last a lifetime!
Also tried another knife company and found Rockler's knife kit to be far superior.

how does the leather sheath attach to the belt?
edgar g on Dec 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The top of the sheath folds down and is sewn back to the sheath. Mine were both gifts so im not sure what size belt it would fit on but probably 1.5" or so.
Does the skinner knife kit include the 3 rivet sets?
John f on Sep 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Though it says 3 on the package, it only requires 2 and they are included.
Where is it made?

BEST ANSWER: Package says "Made in China"
