3X3/8 Flat Head Brass Screws
I don't use these screws for wood projects. I use them to secure the trucks to the underside of my N Scale model railroad freight cars. They secure the trucks much better than the usual push-in bolster pins and they can be removed and reinserted with no problems. Rockler was the only source that I could find for these screws. The price is right and the service is great.

This ice chest was put back...
This ice chest was put back together after falling out of a pick-up truck doing 75 mph. One whole leg (Right-Front)and most of the doors along with some of the face frame was missing and had to be made from new white oak pcs. I also had to cut out some bad spots in the left front leg and cut pcs and glue back together to make it look like it was original. I had to buy all new Screws for the hinges so I bought Solid Brass Screws from Rockler and verry happy that I did, they made the end result even better. I must say, this was the best "Jig-Saw Puzzle" I had ever put together, this Ice Chest belongs to a lady who's dad made it for her long ago, so she had asked me to try and keep as much of the old as possible. It was a chore not knowing how at first it was when it was brought to me in many tiny pcs, but fun as a challenge.

I have them in #4 and #6. The #4 is a little small and # 6 is to big. So I thought the #5 would work better.

I bought the screws, because I was unsure if they came with the quadrant hinges. They do, but it's always good to have extra,in case I strip the head.

I needed a stronger screw that wouldn't break when driving into maple. The Stanley hinges came with brass plated screws with heads that would break off, even with pilots holes. The small size was hard to find as well.
