Excellent buy
I prefer vintage hand tools but couldn't find a shoulder plane. I decided to just buy a new one and got this after reading the reviews. Excellent buy. The only shoulder plane I could find at a moderate price with an A2 tool steel blade. The plane required a little tuning, blade travels a little, but all issues are very minor for the savings. It makes a difference when a plane comes with a A2 or O1 tool steel blade. It tells me the company cares about the overall quality of the product in my opinion.

Excellent product.
I recommend this shoulder plane. I bought it specifically for modifying some interior trim that I was installing and it performed perfectly right out of the box. Also, I received the plane on the fourth day after I ordered it!

Should have bought it sooner.
I put this beauty to work as soon as I got home. I read a number of magazine articles about must have tools for a woodworking shop. Just about all of them mentioned a shoulder plane. It makes trimming tenons and fitting box lids a breeze. Plus it has the bull nose option. Win-win situation. Check it out. You won’t be sorry

Shoulder plane
Purchased the No.92 plane to redress tenons. Rockler had it in stock locally. Works beautifully. Makes snug fitting tenons with just a few passes. The iron is easily adjusted with a super fine thread thumb screw. All cast iron, nice and heavy.

Handy, useful and effective
I replaced and older, larger Stanley rabbet plane with this because it was stolen. I was a bit doubtful that this small plane would be an adequate replacement but I was wrong. This plane is a very nice, compact size that can get into places my old plane could not and now I prefer it to the one I lost. Although one should not set too much stock in "out-of-the-box" sharpness (one always ought to dress new plane irons) I have to admit that I was grateful that this plane was sharp enough to use as it arrived. When I got it I had an immediate use for it and was too impatient to work up the iron before using it. It wasn't perfect but it was sharp enough to work on the job I had going at the moment. I just wiped the grease off and started planing. The sole was flat and all the adjustments worked smoothly. It is comfortable in the hand and very compact and very solid. I recommend this plane highly.

Where can I find a replacement Lever & Screw for a Model #92 Rabbet - Shoulder Plane??
Eric W on Apr 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have never had to replace them on mine. Why not try Stanley by going to their web site.
what is the exact width of the body of the plane? Wondering if it's exactly 3/4 or just under.
Brent L on May 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I just measured it with some digital calipers: 0.751 inches.

So yeah, I'd say "exactly 3/4".
How does it switch from shoulder plane to chisel plane?
Ron A on Jul 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: just loosen the knurled nut on top and slide the front forward and lift off. Real easy. My favorite plane however doesn't work as smooth in chisel plane mode
