Surface Mounted Keyhole Bed Fastener
It works well to first mount the "key" part flush with the end of the stretcher and then attach the "hole" part.

Very good hardware.
I used these on the side rails of a twin loft bed. Very solid. Made for assembling the bed an easy venture. I used these in conjunction with the no mortise bed rail brackets on the bed ends and it made for a very solid frame. The screw that goes in after the hardware is locked in place gives you an added measure of security.

BEST ANSWER: Yes
My bed rails are 1" thick 9" wide oak. Will these brackets be enough support for this board?
janet n on Jan 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Same dimensions as mine and same product. They worked well for me; I expect you will find the same.
I am trying to convert a crib to a full bed and the crib head/footboards have threaded inserts- What is the spacing between the 4 mounting screw holes on the female bracket?
David D on Mar 13, 2017
The brackets are installed correctly but there isn't enough clearance to fully slide the male into the bottom of the female. do you have suggestions on easy fixes?
john s on Sep 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I used a rubber mallet to tap them into place. It's a great hold.
any special install instructions?
Larry K on Jul 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: These brackets are not marked left and right, but A and B. One rail uses an A and a B. You definitely need to puzzle it out. The picture on the website is helpful. There are no instructions with the bracket. Note the screw sizes needed listed above because that is not on the package, either.
Weight rating for brackets?
A shopper on May 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Although bed brackets are not rated, I would not be concerned about the weight the bracket can handle. I would be more concerned with my side rails. Using bed slats will distribute the weigh on the bed across the whole system.
Can these be used to make a bunk bed? Are they safe enough?
Chuck on May 31, 2018
BEST ANSWER: yes they give a good sturdy connection to the head and foot boards.
I have 4 brackets and they are all identical except for 2 with "A" and 2 with "B". There is no difference in the hole pattern or slots. Shouldn't there be a right and left?
George on Nov 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: There is a difference if you consider the ends of the side rails attach reversed. lay them out and you will see.
I am joining 2X8's to make a platform bed-need easy connect and disconnect. Which brackets do you recommend?
Teresa B on Jun 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The Surface Mounted Keyhole Bed Rail Brackets are very easy to install and quick to connect and disconnect.
Is it easier to install the the male or female part first? Want a tight fit and precise reveal.
Gary B on Mar 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I don't think it matters which one you install first. The key is to take good measurements. I placed the set in the vertical center of the bed rail, and then calculated how far off the floor I wanted the bottom of the rail. I then adjusted the measurements for the male part accordingly. Also, tight is good but this design requires the female part to extend far enough beyond the end of the rail that the keyhole can fit completely over and around the short post on the male part. There will have to be a slight gap between the bed rail and bed post or you risk shearing off the post on the male part.
Why is there only 1 screw in the female side of the bracket?
Darwin M on Feb 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The female actually has holes for 3 screws. The single hole is for the safety screw you place once the rails are mounted.
How far apart are the "buttons" on the male bracket?
D G on Dec 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: 1-3/4 center to center. 3/8" diameter
