Titebond® Translucent Wood Glue Titebond Translucent Wood Glue: Column Assembly
Titebond® Translucent Wood Glue
Franklin's Titebond Translucent Wood Glue provides a virtually invisible glue line that's stronger than the wood itself. Designed for general household and woodworking projects, it has a strong tack and fast speed of set that helps reduce clamp time. When dry, this wood glue is unaffected by finishes and sands easily. Also ideal for craft projects, Titebond Translucent is easy to use, non-toxic and cleans up with water. It is specifically designed for wood, particleboard, hardboard, leather, cloth and most other porous materials.

  • Titebond Translucent Glue looks like white glue when wet, but dries to a translucent film, providing an almost invisible glue line
  • Cleans up with water
  • Fast set time - faster than most white glues
  • Excellent sandability
  • Safe - no solvent vapors
  • Excellent heat resistance

Titebond works!
Titebond is one of my favorite tools in woodworking. It sets up moderately quickly and provides a solid bond when cured.

I sell a lot of items made from 3mm Baltic Birch plywood attached with finger joints as well as mortise & tenons. Squeeze out with yellow wood glue can be unsightly, and sometimes difficult to reach and clean up. Figured I'd give this a try to minimize glue visibility.
Steve B on Dec 27, 2016
Though I would try clear drying glue

Jeremy H on Jul 28, 2016
Dewey W on May 8, 2016
It is good glue, I use it for many wood projects and since it is translucent you don't have the glue line.
Works great on oak projects
Thomas P on May 3, 2016
Because it is translucent. I am gluing padauk with spiral dowels and the seam. The least noticeable the glue should produce a neater project.

Lawrence W on Aug 8, 2015
There is not glue line when this glue dries. You are able to get almost perfect face frames, and doors, or anything you join together. It has a slow set up time so you have time to make adjustments. The only glue I use.
Robert B on Jul 1, 2015
I am using it for model ship building. I will try this out on exterior sections where it may be seen. I will also dilute it with water at times to seep into crevices of initial gluing and setup.
Mike C on Jun 23, 2015
I have used in the past and it does a better job than most glues.

How "white" is gorilla glue when dried? I know it calls itself "natural" color...which tells me very little. Is this this light enough for a glue up of maple where the glue lines will be in the center of the finished product? Would Titebond Translucent be better?

Can this glue paintable?
Anna W on Apr 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: With regular paint unless it is filling a major gap, then I would prime first. The glue is like any other. The difference is it is not yellow when it dries. It will not stain, but covers with poly.
What is open time?
Charles S on Sep 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Well I don't have an exact number but it seems equal to standard titebond. If you take too much time it will skin over but I've never had a problem with it holding. I use it for open segment gluing as it turns clear when dry and wow.. does the stuff hold.. It's amazing that way...
Is this the best glue for Spanish cedar? I wish to repair my cigar Humidor and my concern is fumes in my cigars and cedar to cedar bonding. Thanks!
Toby M on Mar 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Not the best, but perfectly acceptable. The best is original dry hide glue heated to 130 degrees.
