Leonardo would love these
For scribing wide arcs, this is the most "tasteful" tool. Old world beauty & a practical solution beyond a beam compass.

Perfect circle choice
I was looking for a compass but I stumbled upon this trammel and wow this was perfect! I paired it with a nice 1” wide ruler as well and I have zero complaints. The storage for more needles and lead really sealed the deal.

Trammel Points Kit
Very nice, well made, and sure, I could have made my own,
but not as nice as these...sometimes, nice is GOOD!
Wanted to use with a wooden ruler, which was a little difficult
finding a 24" long one to fit, as most were too wide. Found
one at last, so all good.

Lots of attention to detail.
Nice, well-made product, with lots of attention to detail and finish. I'm using it with a 1 inch by 1/8 inch aluminum bar.

I can draw a circle with a piece of string a nail and a pencil... These just look too cool to pass up. I love to collect (and use of course) tools.

Can I use this tool for measuring fine work like laying out dovetails?
John L on Jun 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No, but there are several youtube videos on how to lay out dovetails; or you can even lay them out "by eye",
as there really is no need for absolute precision...tails first or pins first, the important/precise measurement is
transferring tails to pin board, or pins to tail board. Just try it, you'll see what I mean...
Do you carry #2 lead for the Trammel Point Set?
Ron M on Dec 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Ron, the Trammel Point Set requires 2 mm leads, not the easiest to find. I did find them at Michaels, item #10404390,
Staedler Carbon Leads, six leads, approx. 5" long for $8.99. l hope this helps
Where to get the Rockler wood and brass beam for the Trammel points?
Nunzio R on Jul 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: If you did not get the beam with the kit, they can be difficult to find. However, I have used several alternatives successfully: wooden yardstick, metal meter stick, a piece of oak 74 inches long that I cut to fit the groves in the Trammels. I have not marked an arc more than a 72 inch radius. The nice thing about these trammel is that they are quite versatile and as long as you can attach them to something you're good to go.
Is there a smaller size version of trammel Points kit?
Ron M on Dec 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: What to you mean by smaller size? You can get different widths by using different rulers. Unfortunately you can only go as small as when the two pieces touch. Haven’t seen smaller at rockler yet but I use a compass for those or a circle jig sheet
