Complete, Useful, Not So Fast
The content is quite good and the ability to search efficiently is a big plus. The photographic and print rendition is great. Opening of the files is slow.

Definitely a recommended addition to any woodworker's reference library for both ideas and techniques.

Great Library
I am enjoying going through the library every day. I like the gift and toy sections the best, the rest is pretty much standard fare. Depending on what year, the drawings are good for the most part. Too many adds in the magazines however. But, I guess that's how we pay the bills. The tips sections are great. I have already learned a few new tricks. Overall, very pleased with this library.

Great deal on the collection. However: the search function is not very discreet. Searching for say "Jigs" will produce results that include every advertisement, reference, and I suppose article dealing with Jigs.

The search feature needs work
I really like having all the articles in one place. But each magazine contains an index of previous issues. So if you find an article on say "kitchen cart" in issue 17, it also shows up in issue 18, issue 19, issue 20...

That makes the index almost worthless.

Pay twice
I subscribed for some years. It seems to me to be a rip off to have to buy old issues over again. I spent the money to save shelf space, since I do look back at old issues, but over priced

Wish I had not bought it
I find it very difficult to find the plans I'm interested in. So far I have not figured out an easy way to review search results to find what I'm interested in.

Knowing what I know today I would not but it.

Running out of shelf space for all of my old musty magazines, so switching to digital archives. The bonus is, digital makes it a bit easier to find that project I remember reading about, (as long as the publisher does it right) but can never seem to find when digging thru years worth of paper.

I enjoy my current subscription of Woodworker's Journal. I can't wait to see all the past issues that I missed over the years.

I have lots of the hard-copy mags, but its indexed and searchable, saving lots or time. And maybe I'll get a few bucks for the mags at a yard sale.

I been subscribing to Woodworkers Journal for many, many years and saved all the magazines but lost then in a house fire.

The search function is weak, but woodworkers journal has great project plans once you find what you're looking for. Great value for all the plans you get.

Christmas Sale, a great savings. Having 35 years of the Journal on one DVD is a great bargain at the normal price. The sale price is one you cannot pass on.

I see this states the collection is from 1977 through 2012. Is that correct? I already have that set. Will you have an updated version that will include up to 2015?
jsarver on Dec 13, 2015
Can the content be downloaded? My computer does not have an optical drive (CD/DVD) so if I can somehow download a series of pdfs or mini-program on another computer and copy via usb or something, that it the only way I'd be able to use this resource.
Kris B on Aug 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes you can use a different computer to upload the CD-ROM and then download to a USB and/or other file type you setup. I download mine to a PDF and get enlarged printouts to take into my workshop as "blueprints" to build projects. Enjoy!!
I'm looking for the chairs that match the contemporary dining table plans in the March/April 1997 issue. Are they available as a single plan or are they in the compilation?
Melanie H on Jun 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: September-october 1997 Vol. 21 No 5
Is this a single searchable DVD or a package of multiple DVD's, one for each year like the previous offerings?
ken d on Dec 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Single disc, with limited search feature. The disc has multiple folders that can be searched individually.
