ZAR® Oil-Based Wood Stain, 139 Coastal Boards

ZAR® Oil-Based Wood Stains are easy to apply, and feature controlled penetration for rich, even tone. Choose from a wide selection of stain colors, all of which work great for interior surfaces such as cabinets, floors, paneling, antiques, doors, wood trim and furniture. Since it's applied with a soft cloth, there is no risk of lap marks or streaking. ZAR Wood Stain can be applied to all varieties of unfinished wood and to many types of previously finished, painted or varnished surfaces to achieve a wood grain effect. Try using the stains with the ZAR Wood Graining Tool (#50397, sold separately) to make fiberglass, steel or composite doors look like wood. Tintable. Will not adhere to shellac or lacquer—these should be removed before staining.

I have a construction grade oak bathroom cabinet and would like to change the color to white without the traditional white paint. Is there a product for this? I have used the gel stains in the past and love them!!!

BEST ANSWER: This product will help you on that. It doesn't dry like the normal oil paint, it takes longer and it gives you enough time to make sure you spread appropriately. Also you can still see the wood grain. Also, it doesn't smell like a normal oil paint which is a plus when you live in the house with kids.
I stripped down an old 80s pine console and want to finish it with a "natural" look to go into a Hacienda type house but don't want that yellow look/ponderosa look. Someone suggested "Coastal Boards" but will that make it too white a la Shabby Chic?
