Overview: Learn about the types of woodcarving techniques, the different tools, and the basic cuts that are involved in woodcarving.  We will also learn about the grain of the wood as we carve a snake.

2 Ways 2 Make Flutes

Overview: Using both the Rockler Jig and the Ready2Rout Fence system, make flutes for columns, fireplaces and more.

Pen Turning

Overview: Learn how to prepare, turn and assemble a pen!  This is the perfect class for anyone that wants to get into turning or learn a new hobby.

Beginning Router Table

Date: August 7, 2014

Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Overview: This workhorse is often one of the first and most important tool purchases that a woodworker ever makes.  It is also easy to master several procedures in the first few weeks of owning one.  In general, it will help you work with stock of dimensions that don't lend themselves to handheld router work.

Intro to Bowl Turning

Date: August 14, 2014

Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Overview: Making bowls is one the  best instant gratification moments you'll have.  Once you get the technique down, you'll have years of fun "turning out" these gems.

Skill Level: Intermediate (pre-requisite: Spindle Turning)

Beginning Carving II

Overview: Continue your exploration of wood and tools and perfect your technique.

Sanding 101

Date: August 28, 2014

Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Overview: Sanding your project is just as important as the joints that  you choose.  Learning how much and for how long to sand can make your project sing when you put your final finish on.  There's nothing worse than seeing a beautiful piece of furniture that hasn't been sanded well.

Skill Level: Beginner
