Sharpening Turning Tools

Date: July 9, 2015

Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Overview: One major key in becoming a good turner is to keep a sharp edge on all of your tools.  Using a slow speed grinder is a fast and efficient way to do that.  Bring a few tools to sharpen and feel the difference a sharp tool makes on your turning projects.

Pen Turning

Overview: Learn how to prepare, turn and assemble a pen?  This is the perfect class for anyone that wants to get into turning or learn a new hobby.

Beginning Router Table

Date: July 23, 2015

Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Overview: This workhorse is often one of the first and most important tool purchases that a woodworker ever makes.  It is also easy to master several procedures in the first few weeks of owning one.

Skill Level: Beginner

Class Fee: $35 + Supplies

 

 

Spindle Turning

Date: July 30, 2015

Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Overview: Just turning on the lathe can be a daunting undertaking.  Take that anxiety away in this fun, hands on class.  Learn wood selection, mounting the wood, tool selection and finally having a great time making spindles.  Spindles quickly turn into pizza cutters, ice cream scoops, candle holders and much more.

Skill Level: Beginner

Class Fee: $35 + Supplies

 

 

Bowl Turning

Date: August 6, 2015

Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Overview: Bowl Turning is a great way to improve your turning skills.  This class will cover face plate turning, tool techniques, mounting wood in a chuck and sanding  and finishing.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Class Fee: $35 + Supplies

 

 

Through Dovetails on a Jig

Date: August 13, 2015

Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Overview: Rockler makes a great entry level dovetail jig.  Come take the mystery out in this two hour class.  If you have one of these jigs, bring it to class and set it up for your own use.

Skill Level: Beginner

Class Fee: $35 + Supplies

 

 

A Place to Hang your Hat

Date: August 20, 2015

Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Overview: Build a hat rack using a table saw, a router table and a drill.
