Classes and Workshops

Beginning Turning with Michael Boyle

Date: March 5, 2015

Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Overview: Just turning on a lathe can be a daunting undertaking.  Take that anxiety away in the fun, hands-on class.  Learn wood selection, mounting the wood, tool selection and finally having a great time making spindles.  Spindles quickly turn into pizza cutters, ice cream scoops, candle holders and much more.

Skill Level: Beginner

Class Fee: $35 + Materials

 

Box Building on the Router Table with Jay Eason

Date: March 12, 2015

Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Overview: The router table is one of the most versatile tools in the workshop.  Using several jigs and bits, learn to make boxes using finger joints, spline joints and others in this information filled class.

Skill Level: Beginner

Class Fee: $35 + Materials

 

Through Dovetails on the Rockler Dovetail Jig  with Michael Boyle

Date: March 19, 2015

Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Overview: Rockler makes and great entry level dovetail jig.  Come take the mystery out of through dovetails in this two hour class.  If you have one, bring your jig to class and set it up for your own use.

Skill Level: Beginner

Class Fee: $35 + Materials

 

Acrylic Pen Turning

Date: March 26, 2015

Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Overview: Acrylic Pen Turning can be tricky to master.  Dan takes the mystery out of this finicky material so you can make fun and exciting pens to show off your skills.

Skill Level: Beginner

Class Fee: $35 + Materials

 

Beginning Router Table with Jay Eason

Date: April 2, 2015

Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Overview: This workhorse is often one of the first and most important tool purchases that a woodworker ever makes.  It is also easy to master several procedures in the first few weeks of owning one.

Skill Level: Beginner

Class Fee: $35 + Materials

 

Pen Turning with Dan Chenault

Date: April 9, 2015

Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Overview: This class will start with kit and tool selection and progress through turning, finishing and assembly.  Learn the tricks of the trade from drilling to final assembly  you will learn to use wood turning tools to shape the pen and get clean accurate cuts.

Skill Level: Beginner

Class Fee: $35 + Materials

 

Bowl Turning with Michael Boyle

Date: April 16, 2015

Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Overview: Bowl turning is a great way to improve your turning skills.  This class will cover face plate turning tool techniques, mounting wood in a chuck and sanding and finishing.

Skill Level: Intermediate - Must talk with Michael before singing up

Class Fee: $35 + Materials

 

Captured Ring Turning with Michael Boyle

Date: April 23, 2015

Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Overview: This is the classes “How’d they do that” project.  A ring around a spindle with no way to get in on or off.  Learn how to make this fun project that will “WOW” your friends and family.

Skill Level: Advanced.  Must talk with Michael before signing up

Class Fee: $35 + Materials
