The eye-catching Rhombus table base is made up of two geometric frames that intersect to support the top of your choice. At 15-1/2'' high, it's the ideal height for a coffee table, and is sure to attract plenty of attention as the focal point of your room. Simply buy or build your own top and attach the base for a sturdy, stylish piece of furniture. The leg sections are welded from thick steel, creating a solid foundation. Made from unpainted raw steel, it will need to be coated with clear lacquer or metal paint to prevent rust. Alternatively, you can leave it raw and it will acquire a natural rust patina over time. Includes all necessary mounting hardware. Handmade in Canada. Approximate overall dimensions: 15-1/2'' high x 12-3/4'' wide x 28'' long.

Very pleased with product- the coffee table looks great in our family room.
Very pleased with product. Will be used as coffee table in family room. The processing of the welds was not consistent. Some very smooth and others were rough. Powder coating covers this. Other minor problem are the holes in the bottom-too big for the feet I ordered- I drilled smaller ones to attach feet
Powder coated black with top made of 80 year old barn wood.

Base
I like the base but there was a huge problem getting it to the correct address. I ordered it in the Cambridge, Ma. store and gave the salesman by Pa. drivers license. He got the state wrong and I ended up having to pay a change address fee.
Plus the base showed up with no hardware. When I phoned Rockler they sent it to the wrong address again. I finally got it all straightened out but it was a hassle.

This looks like it will be a great match to a table top that needs interesting legs.

I am preparing to build a coffee table and was not happy with choices for a base. This new tubular steel base looks just like what I was looking for .

Would it be possible to turn the base onto its side and attache a top? Meaning could I make a small side table that is 28 high and 15.5 long? Or are the legs off balance so it would tip over?

BEST ANSWER: You are only able to use it as a coffee table that is 15.5 inches tall. There are 4 holes in the top that must be attached to the table top. Otherwise the table would fail. I did not know that the table is shipped flat and you must assemble the legs and attach to the table top. Because of this requirement my table top (of barn wood) will be about 21 by 41 inches.
