Z clips
They work great. However, the holes are not straight across. Use the adjoining piece to mark the drilling location.

works great
I used 1pair attached to wood I shaped to the inside of the frying pan so that there is no visible hanger for the clock. these are easier than using a hook or nail and handles the weight with no effort in sheet rock.

Great way to install for a variety of projects
I've used the Z-clips for several projects in the past, and have always ended up ordering online. It was really nice to be able to just stop in and purchase the clips. As a hands-on interior designer who does my own projects, I've used these clips to install banquette seating, headboards, large art pieces and even helped snug sectional pieces together with them. Great product - think out of the box - you'll use them more than you realize.

Great Solution for our Wardrobe Cabinets
Installed freestanding wardrobe cabinets in private offices. Used these to prevent the units tilting forward. These allowed lateral movement (left and right) a 1/4" for placement without drilling through the back and affixing to the wall.

Hanging a large bathroom mirror.
The z clips were perfect to hang a 72 inch bathroom mirror in a frame. I attached 4 z clips to the studs in the wall and then aligned and attached the opposite z clip to the back of the mirror. All we had to do was to slide the mirror up and over the wall clips and we were done. The z clips were easy to install and solved our problem of how to hang the mirror with no hangers shown. The z clips allowed the mirror to hang directly against the wall. I have a handful left for the next project.

So I want to mount some garage upper storage cabinets. They will be heavy by themselves, once loaded with stuff very heavy. Is there a full length version of these that can hold more weight?
What is the load capacity for Z clips?

are there 10 pairs of cleats or only 10 pieces per pack?
Is there anything to stop these clips from moving laterally until they no longer hold the item up?
BEST ANSWER: No, they can slide laterally, but that also makes them forgiving on alignment. I mounted s shelf for Hummel figurines. I routed out the back to the depth of the clip and that routed out section doesn't allow too much side to side movement. You could also put a small screw on either side as well to provide a lateral stop. I was impressed that they support a lot of weight and hold the shelf securely flat against the wall.

I want to hang a panel 6" to 8" away from the wall, it will be 3/4" plywood, 12" high. It will be down 8" to 10" from the ceiling as well. Any mounting brackets?
BEST ANSWER: These only are 1/4" thick when joined so the 6" - 8" stand off would have to be done with a bracket or box frame

Will z-clips work on walls sloping inward, such as in attic space?
BEST ANSWER: Probably not a great use for Z clips. For example, if you hung a flat panel with any weight to it, you would need to support the top and bottom edges of the object - so 4 sets.

Can you use these by sliding the object you want to attach horizontally instead of sliding down vertically? I’m looking for flush mount hardware that could be used to attach a wood corbel in an entryway so, it would be flush against the ceiling as well as the wall.
BEST ANSWER: Attaching horizontal won’t hold the piece in place and vertically will leave a small gap at the top. Might consider glue to get flush mount to ceiling

Would one of these clips be appropriate for hanging an 11" x 14" picture frame with glass?
BEST ANSWER: Yes. The real limiting factor is the sheer strength of the screws attaching one half to the wall and the other half to the shelf, frame, etc Brackets them selves can probably support a hundred pounds each.
