NOTE: Left hand thread
This is a great option other than purchasing a motorized spindle sander. While reading other reviews it seems people are having difficulties with the nut jamming on the shaft. THE NUT IT IS A LEFT HAND THREAD. I hope that may help someone thinking of purchasing this tool.

Woodworking Experience:
Since I don't have room for an oscillating sander, I got this set. I use it on my bench drill press or even a drill. I have not, as yet, used it on my lathe but I'm quite sure it will be used at some point with that piece of equipment. Got it on sale. Works very, very well for my purposes. Great quality, too. Thank you, Rockler.

BEST ANSWER: Sandpaper is linked in the 'Frequently Bought Together' section of this offering.
where can I find extra sleeve to purchase for this sanding drum set
jerry l on Mar 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi Jerry. I saw extra sleeves for sale at my local Rockler store. They don't have to be made by the same manufacturer, just the same size as the sanding drum. You should be able to order online if they are available in the store.
Can I use this on my drill press?
Mike G on Dec 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I use mine in the drill press. I made a base of plywood that slides over the metal shelf. Then I cut a round hole in the center of the plywood base. Adjust the plate up until the plywood encompasses the bottom of the drum, then you get a nicely squared
Do these have 1/4" hex shanks or round?
Keith on Dec 31, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Round. But they work great in a drill press. Just double lock the chuck. After tightening the chuck in one hole , switch to another hole and give an extra crank. No
What is the shank size ? 1/4" or 3/8" ?
Tim M on Nov 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Shank size is 1/4" except for the smallest drum (1/2") which has a 1/8 shank.
Will these discs sand metal or just wood?
John J on Jul 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Be careful about using it to sand aluminum, which tends to clog the sandpaper if you apply too much pressure and/or have the drill speed set too high.
do you need a drill press only?
George T on May 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have used with my hand drills also.
Will this work on my router table?
Lyle R on Dec 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: That’s an interesting idea. I use mine in a drill press or hand drill, and they work well that way. I think they should fit in the 1/4” chuck for a router fine, however, the high speed of a router will likely present a problem as it will probably burn wood and also wear out the rubber drum due to the speed and heat.
Will these fit in a Dremel type tool?
bob. b.k. on Aug 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, the shaft is too big for a Dremel.
