Two varieties of rosewood are complemented by two colorful exotics—purpleheart and canarywood—in this value-packed bundle of blanks. Canarywood is the lightest in color of the four, with warm yellows, a nice natural luster, and excellent working characteristics. True to its name, purpleheart exhibits vibrant purple heartwood, and a fine, satiny texture. The rosewoods dominate the darker end of the spectrum with rich chocolatey tones. The blanks are dimensioned for medium-sized spindle turnings like candlesticks and coffee table legs. They can also be resawn into blanks for pens, knife scales, bottle stoppers and more.

Great variety pack.
Great variety pack. They are not individually identified as to their species so you need to label them for your reference later when you receive these.

Great selection, great price
I am planning on building some hidden-tang knives and needed some wood to do so. I was just about to go searching for something when I was notified about this product. It is just what I needed at a great price. Considering I can make up to six knives from these, that brings my costs to just over $5 for each knife, a perfect price point. I like the variety in the wood and the quality of each one. If this deal is available in the future, I will be buying again.

Of the bottle stoppers in the customer gallery posted by Dakota what wood is the stopper to the right of center. second from the left. The one to the left of the purple heart stopper? thanks
DJWild on Nov 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Most likely one of the rosewoods. My bundle - the patagonian had a little more character than the bolivian, but both finished up real nice, and I took half the bolivian and canary - ripped them i quarters, planed them, laminated them, and turned them, resulting in handles that were contrasting and complimentary.
For dakota's post on august first 2018 which wood was the 4th from the left or 2nd from the right or 1 right of center made of?
DJWild on Nov 12, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have bought several of these packs. It is unfortunate that Rockler doesn't label these woods and we have to figure it out. I went thru the painful process of identifying them too.

As pictured, the piece on top is Bolivian Rosewood.
The 3 below that are, left to right; Canarywood, Purpleheart, Pantogonian Rosewood.

Hope that helps!
