A MUST HAVE BIT
I have used mine in most of the drilling I do. I know it is a drill bit no ment for the use it did with it in metal. I would grab it first then go bigger, it would start most of the time without a center punch used.

Great product - Keep a spare bit handy
Tapered bits are great!
I have made quite extensive use of my tapered pilot bet/countersink set. IMHO, if you use it enough, you will eventually break the point off the bit. With a broken tip, the tapered bit is pretty much kaput. It is a specialty item and hard to find anywhere except at Rockler. Having a spare bit will save the day!

This works great not only in a countersink bit, but also work great to drill holes when attaching kitchen cabinets together after countersinking since the countersink bit is typically not deep enough.

I have broken bits in knots and it's frustrating to wait for a $10 bit when the countersink is fine but useless.

These bits fit the #6 countersink bit. They are flat on one side so they do not slip.
