Now you can purchase additional tracks for your rolling barn door—ideal for accommodating very wide doors that need more track length than the standard 6' included with our kits. Use the 8' track alone if the length is sufficient, or use the Splice Hardware (#58266, sold separately) to lengthen your existing track by 4', 6' or 8'. The black finish matches perfectly with the components in our Rolling Barn Door Hardware Kits, and the Quiet Glide® tracks are made of solid aluminum, eliminating dents, warping and bending so your rolling barn door slides consistently and quietly over time.

what material are rails and rollers made of. If I mounted 2 rails upside down on a deck, 8 feet apart, and attached the rollers to the side of a small shed, 8 ft. x 8 ft,, would the rail system and rollers function properly
Terry S on Feb 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: If you put them on top and on the bottom, I believe it would work. Keep them lightly coated in oil if using outside. I'm not sure that they are rated for outdoor use.

Can the rolling barn door track be mounted to the ceiling?
Jerry F on Feb 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I would not recommend it. The track is intended to mount of a wall so the rollers can roll on the top of the bar (track). To mount this on the ceiling require you to build special supports that the brackets could be attached to and that would put it too far away from the wall to be of much benefit. If there is no header in the doorway, it might be better to build one, rather than try to mount from the ceiling.
I have low ceilings and I am concerned about clearance. What is the height requirement, from center line of track to the top of the rollers?
Rick R on Jun 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: About 2 1/2 to 3 inches
I have mine installed with the top of the track down 4 inches from the ceiling with about a 1 and 1/2 inches between the top of the roller and the ceiling. I left a 1/2 leeway in the measurements. You will want to leave that much as well in case the ceiling or floor are not perfectly level.
what are the dimensions of the rolling barn door track? Diameter? do you have stops for this track?
james r on Mar 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The pipe itself is about an inch. If you have a wide door over 36", you will need to order an extension kit. The pipe ends will stop the rollers but the rollers never really get near them. You may also construct a jamb that extends out from the wall so the door can be locked if needed when closed. That would act as a stop as well and, again, the wheel wouldn't get to the end.
Have to lock barn doors together and lock with a key?
Bruce R on Nov 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately I used only one door for my project.
