Plan was laid out well. It could have more measurements for some of the details. I made chest out of pine panels sold by lowe's and stained it using minswax products. finished it with semi gloss polyurthane. Lined chest with cedar closet liner 1/4 inch. It will be used as a shower gift for my daughter. I will use other plans in to make a wedding gift.

I made this chest for a wedding gift. I thought some of the techniques were a little out dated, but, I changed some things, & it still turned out excellent! I used a brown cedar for the exterior & lid. I lined it with aromatic cedar fresh cut from Nebraska. The lining pieces were 6" wide x 1/4" & worked ok. I glued the pieces in and then nailed them with an air nailer. I changed the placement of the dust seal on the lid, & also added handles to each side made out of alder. The plans said to use boiled linseed oil for the finish, but I decided against that, & used Minwax fast drying clear coat. I put three coats on, & it looks great!!

Cedar chest plan? Is this just instructions" how to build one?
A shopper on Apr 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The plan includes a "full scale" side showing templates for several items on the chest i.e. the bottom and side base supports. A Recommended Tools list, a Bill of Material with cut list. Opposite the full scale side there are tips & order of assembly with photos. I have not built the chest, however, the instructions look complete.
