Woodworking Experience:
When used properly, they are great!
They work great. Just take care of them and remember they aren't for sharpening knives. They are for drill bits, router bits, etc. And, most importantly, if you haven't sharpened a bit before, and, even if you have, go online and make sure you know what you're doing. It will make the difference between having a tool (or bit in this case), and a mangled, albeit mildly, piece of metal that looks like a tool.

Take the sharpening class at your local Rockler store. Check with them the day before, it's not a popular course (no idea why, it was one of my favorites) so it might just be you and the instructor. You can bring all the tools you own to get sharpened (within reason) and get one on one training in the process.

Heads up: Your experience may be different than mine.

Woodworking Experience:
Ordered had a issue with a file
Called once I started to use the finest of the diamond files. The metal that the diamonds were adhered to was showing quickly that the diamonds were not adhering and not holding. I called the company and they sent me out a new set. I appreciate the Excellent service and not making excuse, as this was a brand new set I original ordered, In todays world of lack of customer service it was refreshing!!!

Sharpening Set
Nice set of files for keeping your Forstner bits tuned-up.
These are made for light tune-ups, but not sturdy enough for heavy filing.

Great stones
Way better than the DMT ones that I have had the coating flake off. Theae are very durable and seem to last forever.

We needed to find something harder than the stone we r trying to sand down in rings. So far diamond tipped dremel tools are the only thing not being devoured by the stones.

I purchased a set of these and was curious if anyone had any luck on sharpening ogees, roundovers, bullnose, etc?
K H on Apr 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have used the sharpener once to sharpen my round over bit after making 2 Adirondack chairs. Worked perfectly! The instructor I had in a Router class I took in the Rockler store in Phoenix told me how to do it. He also taught me how to oil the top of router to maintain it like new.
Does this come with instructions and do you need to get compound to use these?
Ronnie on Dec 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Minimal instructions yet more information available from EZE-LAP web site. Compound not needed.
Do you have to go through all three grits every time? I wouldn't think you'd need to unless the edge were chipped or nicked. Am I wrong here?
K H on Apr 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: These are good to touch up or quick hone a flat chisel or plane iron. Going through all grits when using it on lathe tools is not something I usually do. Maybe on a plane iron sometimes. I'm not that finicky.
They are definitely not for resolving nicks or chips. Both the tool and the user would wear out before the edge was fixed.
Can I use these to sharpen cuticle nippers used for manicures?
Jenny on Aug 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I don't see why not. I used them to sharpen my Swiss army knife as well as shop tools. Use them to get the edge of the bevel almost razor sharp.
