Dust Shoe for Axiom Pro CNC

Attaches to Axiom AutoRoute Pro 4, 6 and 8 CNC routers for an easy, effective dust collection solution.
Item #

Rating:
80% of 100

By surrounding the router bit with a barrier of soft, nylon bristles, the Axiom Pro Dust Shoe provides you with a nearly dust-free CNC routing environment. The bristles flex to conform with material of varying thicknesses, and to seal off any escape route so dust is sucked up the hose. The rare-earth magnet closure allows quick removal of the brush head to provide spindle access. For use with all Axiom AutoRoute Pro CNCs (sold separately).

Features:
  • Heavy-duty acrylic construction
  • Transparent for easy visibility
  • 4'' threaded dust hose port
  • Split-shoe design allows easy removal of brush shoe
  • Friction-clamp allows adjustment of dust shoe height
  • 3'' long soft nylon bristles are durable, yet flexible
  • Mounts to 80mm electro spindle diameter

Dust Brush
This addition to the AXIOM machine I purchased is well worth the investment. It collects most of the dust generated by the machine. It is easy to take off and reattach to the machine. It is help on by magnets. Great addition to my shop!

Dust Boot
This is the best thing since sliced bread. I purchased my machine in Jan but decided I could wait on the dust boot. I did a lot of cleaning after each project. I couldn't believe how well this works. No wood shavings AT ALL!! No dust. Wish I had purchased when I got machine. A MUST HAVE!!

Great Dust boot
There is no option other to use this boot. You would be crazy to think you could run anything without it! The Magnetic portion makes it a breeze to change bits and it's super sturdy. Great job Axiom!

Mounting Clamp Failure
My first thought was how nice the boot looked. My second thought was the limited amount of material there was for the boot to clamp to the spindle and work properly without breaking. My third thought was I knew it! With just a very limited number of turns on the clamp screw, I heard the little pop noise and immediately knew exactly what happened. As you can see from the picture, the clamping section of the base has maybe 3/4 to an Inch of plastic expected to support the weight of the boot and the suction hose. Epoxy back together, wait 24 hours and slowly screwed in the clamp and POP AGAIN. I have been around the block a time or two and know a potential problem when I see one and that my friends is not only a potential but in my opinion, an absolute fact that the design is flawed, BUT THERE IS A SOLUTION. Drill a 1/4" hole on each side of the base in line with the Spindle Mounting Bracket slots. Push 1/4" x 4 1/2" machine bolts up from the bottom using washers on both ends of the screws and slowly tight each until the base is mounted securely to the bracket. Very gently, snug the original tightening bolt clamping the unit to the spindle and you should be set.
