Most Festool handheld power tools use detachable Plug-It power cords for compact storage and transport. The cords are available here in heavy gauge (16 gauge) for more powerful tools like track saws, and light gauge (18 gauge) for less demanding tools like sanders. The heavier gauge cords will work with any Festool power tool, while the lighter gauge cords have an extra rib on the plug, preventing them from being used with, for example, a track saw. You can use a heavy cord with a light-duty tool like a sander, but the cord will not be quite as pliable as the original.
Important: Heavy-duty tools will not accept a light gauge cord. Check the manual for your tool to make sure you are purchasing the correct replacement.
