Narrow-Rip Extension Set for Festool Parallel Guide Set, Metric (495718)

If you want to make narrow rip cuts of the same width without having to measure and mark, these metric Parallel Guide Extensions are the accessory to buy. They attach to the metric Parallel Guides (#44928, sold separately), which in turn attach to any length of Festool Guide Rail (sold separately). Each Guide Extension accepts a movable stop and has an imperial scale that you can set anywhere from 1mm to 195mm wide. Once set, you simply work your way down the sheet making repeated cuts at the same dimension.

Note: This is not a squaring tool. Think of it as a rip fence. It only ensures that your cut is parallel to the edge the stops reference off of. Parallel Guides are often pictured attached to a shorter Guide Rail and adjusted for narrow material, which gives the (incorrect) impression that it's squaring the end of a panel. With a long enough rail, the Parallel Guides (and Extensions) can be used to rip a full 8' sheet of plywood, or even longer.
