Refinished a Kennedy Rocker
I used two 400 foot orders of rush material, one for the rocker bottom and one for the back. The material is very strong. I am very satisfied. I made two orders not knowing how far the material would go. It turned out just the right amount. Since I had to feed the end through the chair frame, it was better to use the shorter, 400 foot length rather than the 800 foot. I brushed on linseed oil which darkened and somewhat stiffened the weave. That gives a finished look to match the rocker stain. Good stuff!

I am a 1st time user of this product and to redoing chairs with fiber rush, the you tube how to weave was a great help. One thing I would like to know is what type of finish is best for this type of rush.

I'm a first-timer, too, and the only concern-not a complaint at all- was the packaging. It didn't occur to me that it would uncoil so wildly on each end. I will be ordering more because the quality of the product itself is excellent. On the next roll, I will just run a wire through the tube, tie it off, and hang it up so that I can easily roll off what I need without the mess.

I do chair bottoms for antique stores and individuals and the consistant quality of the product is very important to me. Another plus is the VERY fast prep of my order and the speedy delivery.

BEST ANSWER: xsorry, but I gave no idea
Is the youtube video still available for help with fiber rush installation?
Terry M on Jun 21, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Sorry, I have no idea.

I re-weaved the chairs a couple of years ago.

But the video was very helpful
i am to about to use the fiber rush(15926) but it does not form around the frame easily. Fiber is too stiff to make a right angle without a lot of force. Will I damage the material (paper) by wetting it? if so, do you have other ideas for wrapping it tightly around a 3/4" thick frame? Bottom uses about 100' each direction of the 12" x 12" x 3/4" frame. Any suggestions on what to do with the other 99' as i weave? Just let it tangle on the floor?
Marvin W on Jan 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hey Marvin, the best way to work with the rush is to have it damp. I cut what I can manage usually about 15-20' at a time, I quickly dunk it in water, shake it out and start weaving. To help keep it taut I use spring clamps as I work my way around the chair. Don't let it get too wet or it will fall apart but damp will allow you to work around corners. good luck.chris
Does the fiber rush come in a natural color? It's difficult to tell from the picture. Is your product a dark or light brown?
Husker on Jun 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Its a medium brown, like the color of a brown paper bag that you get from a supermarket.
Do you carry 6/32" size rush? Also, my chair seats are approximately 18"x18". how many feet do I need to complete one chair?
Carrie L on May 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Just order a 400' roll. At that you'll have some left over. The diameter isn't a issue.
